86/87 VFR 700/750 centerstand question

Please, anyone have a copy of the factory Honda centerstand parts and mounting sheet. I'm looking for the accesory installation kit sheet with a parts breakdown and step by step instructions?

Also, photos of the parts and installation?

Finally, looking to purchase centerstand and/or any individual pieces?

Instructions are not really needed, the parts are pretty much self-explanatory once you get them all together next to the bike.

Now it's been 20 years, so let's see:

Stand
mounting pipe <----goes thru the 2 frame lugs and the stand itself
spring
spring bolt tab
spring bolt
cotter pin

And there might have been a washer too, I forget.

And that's the parts list.

As for installation, you've got to remove the back half of the exhaust system, in order to slip the mounting pipe through the frame and the stand.

After that, you simply install the washer over the mounting pipe, do up the cotter pin, mount the spring bolt tab with the supplied special bolt, expand the spring with coins stacked through the coils (or use some brake spring pliers if you got 'em) and attach the spring to the bolt.

Dirt simple really. As for actually FINDING one, good luck. It's the Holy Grail of VFR parts. rolleyes.gif

I just went through this on my 91 and it required an additional main bracket that the stand mounts to and replaces some small brackets that the lower aft left and right "fairings" mount on. Didn't need to mess with the exhaust, except to add a little rubber bumper to the lower collector box. Thanks to the help of this site I printed a copy of the factory Honda accessory kit sheet with complete parts breakdown and installation instructions including illustrations. Came in very handy when trying to obtain all the parts and with step by step details including torque specs.

Looks like the 1st gen 86/87 doesn't need that additional main bracket, but does require messing with the exhaust (that should be fun).

Can anyone confirm the 87 and 86 centerstand parts are the same?

I don't know if they were exactly the same, but I've got an '87 centerstand on my '86 and it fits fine. Of course, you can't use aftermarket pipes with it, but what the hell, you can at least lube the chain whenever you want!

I have the parts fische for the 86-87 700s and it lists the same part number for both bikes.

The part number is 50500-ML7-600 Honda code 2410124.

The number is different that the one listed for the 750 shown a few posts above, but the parts look the same.
