Anyone know how these fit? Oval or round? Average sizing?
I like the fit of an HJC CL14, Arai Qantum, Shoei RF1000 but can only guess at the Vemar fit since different website sources seem to contradict each other.

Extreme supply have a lid sale on at the moment and have these listed at $149. I bought one from them a month or so ago for $169 :( which I thought was a good deal. As for the fit...... I don't know yet, it still sits in the box waiting for me to return home as I work overseas.

I bought one a few months ago. I acutally got mine for $120 off ebay. I know if you dig around there are some online stores that sell them for the same price. Supposedly the helmets where around $500 when they first came out, then the Vemar failed to bring a big enough market for their helmets in the USA so they pulled out back to Italy. That's why the prices are so cheap. The way the helmets fits is more on the round side. I preivously had a shoei rf1000 in Large. I bought the Vemar helmet in large too and it was a bit tight. However, after "breaking it in" it feels perfect. I've noticed a couple imperfetions, but overall its a really good helmet for the price. It's louder that most street helmets though since it is "race" helmet. There's a lot of ventillation, the shield is great (anti-scratch/anti-fog which really works). If I could do it again I would buy another just because its cheap, functions like a $300 helmet, and will protect your brain well. If you want more info you can PM me or just ask here.
Just got mine yesterday. The finish doesn't have any imperfections at all. It fits just slightly too tight on the forehead and ears but I suspect it will be good once I get a couple of weeks riding in.

Went to a local shop a few weeks ago. Tried on several ICON helmets to find out how they fit. They fit very much like Shoei's. Internet ordered an ICON Domain. My X-8 Air is nearly 10 years old. Did a sound and ventilation test after it arrived. Sound wise (wear earplugs all the time) was pretty equal, however the ventilation on the ICON is superior. Removable lining for ease of cleaning too. Just chiming in my $0.02.

It fits perfect now. I went for a 3 hour ride today and there aren't any pressure points at all. I take a medium in a Shoei RF1000, HJC CL 12, Arai Quantum and now the VEMAR. I suspect you should take a Large since that's what your HJC is. I ordered a dark tinted visor and an extra visor hardware kit (just in case mine breaks when I swap between clear and tinted) all for $219.00. No problem with room for regular glasses. I wore my cheaper sunglasses today which have slim arms and they were fine. I wouldn't want to wear my Oakley's because the arms are too thick.

Hey Talon! Could you expand on why you like the KBC more than the Vemar? Cause I have a KBC Wolf right now which I really like, but it is 4 years old and I was considering buying a Vemar...
FedEx just delivered my new backup helmet. I got the Vemar VSR in silver. First thing out of the box is how light it is. I can feel a real difference between the Vemar and my Shoei RF900. I don't like that it doesn't have space on the sides for my glasses to fit "normal" on my head. But when you wear glasses you learn to live with it. I'm gonna take a ride saturday on I-95 to test the wind noise so I'll update on that when I can. Also, it was only 90 bucks on EBay. Got to love that. I wear Large in shoei and this large fits very well. No pressure points just playing with it out of the box, but saturday will be it's big day.
Just for an update.. I've had my Vemar helmet for maybe 3 months??? i think... I've worn it for about 6000 miles so far and I like it. I used to have a shoei rf-1000 in large and my vemar is large to, it just took a little breaking in period. The tinted visors are kinda hard to find because they don't distribute the helmets anymore in the US. I got my mirrored visor from http://www.offshoremotorcycleparts.com/ and it came realtivly quickly and cost me about $60. The visors are higher quality than the shoei's. If anyones thinking of getting this helmet and you don't mind so noise (it's a nosiy helmet, but really ventilated) I would say get it. I got mine for $120.
Sorry if this is repeating, but I thought I would let you guys know I still like it and glad I was about to get it for cheap. It makes me feel dumb paying more for something "better."
