Soo, shouldn't we have 6th gen before 7th?

I don't think new colours schemes, some clear lenses and abit of computer tuning makes for a generation release....

Shouldn't we expect more from the vendor?

What are you talking about, the 06 is still a 6th gen. 02-06 ? :huh:

Don't really get your post, but from best I can tell you are saying that the '06 is being refered to as the 7th gen? If so this is incorrect, some are referring to it as the 6.5 gen but that is about as far as it has gone. So the hope for a 7th gen gets put off until 2007. Maybe a hint for whats to come. My predictions are that honda will give a RC211V that can completely convert to a Goldwing transformer style.

Cosmetic changes and minor changes do not constitute a new generation. 6th Gen covers '02-'06 ;)


But yes, we should expect something "new" from Honda as Chris said in '07...we had all hoped for the 7th gen in '06 but that didn't happen.

As has been mentioned many times here now Honda is reported to be going into one of their three year cycles of lots of new stuff starting in '07....so hopefully the 7th gen VFR will be a big part of that.

I tell you what though... Those 06 colors are a one of a kind! Everyone will know that year...

Black and well................. White. Very original. I was a bit mad to see no red, even though it is over done, red is the color of the VFR and honda racing.

American Honda has generally been pretty poor on color choices and options....not their best quality :P

That white & red looks sharp! Not exactly something I would search out, sharp nonetheless... I think those who get it and really like it are lucky to have that option on this final year of the 6th gen.

As far as I know it is only owners.

There are six different versions of the VFR therefore the current model is the sixth generation. (Excluding RC30 and RC45 or RVF versions)

Not sure what you mean. The '98-'01 models and '02 to '06 models are all RC46, but we call them two different generations.

I think he is refering to the forum haveing this title Seventh Generation News and Rumor. but he failed to read the "news and rumor" part that suggests that it has not come to realization yet, noting that this forum is for speculation and news about what has yet to come. Believe me when we all saw the 06 it was like sombody let the air out of a balloon, a lot of hot air actually.

Not to mention a lot of noob posters cant figure out what area to post in so they post here, so this forum is a bit cluttered with stuff that has no buisness being here.

Oz gets a red, but its a deeper bloodier red than the '05... if only I could find a supplier of the black oem plastic for my Klingon...

My 02 is not going any where, no matter what changes they make to future generations. I purchased this bike because of the good value and the hope that it can run forever. My second or third bike will be a constant rotation, but the Vtec stays.

Amen to that brother. Honda Canada was forced to cede colour choice to the Honda honchos in the US. Prior to that we had four or so choices in colour. Now, we get what you get.

Ditto for all of the accessories choices. These are limited to what American Honda deems necessary (read remarkably profitable). So, we don't get stuff like the Honda OEM heated hand grips while Honda UK imports them easily. :(

Down under do you get the Euro tail light ass'y with the clear insert to light the license without a seperate plate light? If so i may ask a favor of you...
