Today's forecast for Colorado Springs/So. CO is record high of 81 and sunny. I'm thinkin' about making a run down to Bishop Castle -- I know it's short notice, but thought I'd check. Anybody interested?
I got a few errands to take care of this AM -- shootin' for having my kickstand up around 10:00-10:30 AM MDT. Shoot me a PM if you wanna meet up. I'll check right before I leave the garage.
I can meet downtown or anywhere south (I live near the Olympic Training Center). You decide where to meet and PM me.

Hey Zonker...thanks for the 8am phone call. Wish I could have taken you up on the "hookey" offer but the price I'd pay tomorrow for not being here today would be staggering.
The real pisser is the longer I'm here at work this a.m. the more I wish I would have taken you up on the off to enjoy the fine weather.
Oh well. Have fun and yell at Bishop for me.

Wish that I could go. As it was the morning I rode into work, and it was the first day this year that I didn't have to put on long underwear.
Nice ride, light traffic, and people actually seemed like they knew how to drive their cars. I only had to pass two idiots this morning. I think that is a new record.
Later,
Jeff
Thanks fellas. I'm outta here. --z
G-$: Sure appreciate the warning about deer. I saw three groups of 4-6 animals grazing a little ways off the edge of the road. One of the herds stood still as statues as I slowed and passed. The other two groups bolted RIGHT into my path and across the roadway as I approached them. No biggie since I was lookin' for 'em - thanks.
The roads down there are in pretty good shape. There are spots where there's still a fair amount of sand along the centerline and off the edges, but both lanes are clean. I only saw one other sport bike; he passed me in the twisties like I was standin' still! (that's par for me!)
I saw a bunch of cruisers out. I passed THEM like THEY were standin' still! There's some sick satisfaction in that, isn't there?!
I rode on from Bishop Castle down to Rye, CO. It's really dry down there. The Forest Service has posted "burn ban" notices all over the place, so the fire danger must be extremely high.
Good ride...
