Greetings all,
Well last year was landmark achievement in getting my Finance Director (A.K.A. my wife) to allow me funds to purchase a bike. I looked high and low locally and went to a few dealers and felt like I was being bent over without any lube.
So in desperation I posted a wanted ad on craigslist.com. Essentially I laid out that I had 1500 bucks burning a hole in my pocket and I wanted a bike no older than 1985. I received many replies but the one that hit me was just one line:
"Here's my bike let me know"
He included a front and profile view of the bike and I must make a confession... I was more excited than a teenager with a drunk date on prom night. It was the same bike that I had a picture cut out of the sales brochure in 1985 in my school locker.
I negotiated to his price down to 1300 cash if he drove it up to my place. Last Novemebr he drove it up.
I need to take this years pictures because I have done some extensive cleaning and polishing. The wheels cleaned up incredibly nice. It was dropped inside a garage hence the dent on the tank and crack on the fairing. But it's barely noticeable...
I took it to a person that i met at a friends wedding. New tires, new brakes, and a carb synch and fresh oil made this bike sing! and I mean SING! I went for a Ride last weekend with my 2 buds. One has a Triumph Daytona Triple and the other is the Ninja 636. I had noooooo problems catching up and keeping up and in fact one comment was "It's sad that a stock exhaust sounds better than my aftermarket exhaust!"
I'm hoping to get a few years out of her and then I will look for a newer VFR as I have really fallen in love with the V4's ability to run in any scenario with aplomb.

The day after she arrived! Ladies and gentleman the Honda VF700F Interceptor... She's 20, she's beautiful, and she's mine!
