Well, so far, it's been a long road. Some of you prolly dislike me, may be hate me. Gonna let some beans spill.

Been some mishaps. My personal opinion, on Color Right, is don't go there. Cycle color and your local PPG. No Doubts.

All Heart felt apologies to Das Bone. The part fit my bike perfect with both SV and D.B. I have variations, between parts, but not like that. Makes me wonder the manufacturing process of the windscreens. If you wish to chime in with more, you are welcome to, sir.

Which brings me to Promed. Try that yet? Z.G. Is needing updates, is the point. This creates the solution of going universal, difficult. The problem, the lip that meets the screen needs to go back into the windscreen more. This is easy. And If I go back slightly further, fitment would gain and lose. If it were back further, It would be not visible on a dark smoke, and barely visible, on a smoke. As for the stock Honda, (100% visible), no one has chimed in with there opinions on it being approx. .300" back. Now I'm looking to go back almost 1/2". Any input? The only cure I can find, is paint the wind screen, or, for an added fee, (gerrrrr), I could make a decal to cover the end of the windscreen. Problem with that is the possibility of bubbles in between that and the windscreen. Opinions?

Which brings me to Laney. Busier than the bee, to be grilled on the front of your bike. Try that yet?
There may be a fitment problem, with the angled edges meeting with the headlights.
I got a little carried away with sanding, on 4 pcs. All me.
Seadooloo is a recipient of one also. I spoke with him, and he didn't find it unacceptable. Thank You. You have an understanding, of my panic. LOL.
The others were stopped in there tracks.

Beer,......Now more truth,...

Kanadian Ken. Wow. What can I say. THANK YOU! Ken Has received a bad painted part, a mis-fitting part, and a........... I have all confidence in it
but that obviously has been a problem. He and his dad, (who has a butt-load of painting experience), offered-up solutions, and guidance.
Can't say enough about you, sir. Kind and understanding. (As all of you). Glad your pro-creating. The world needs more like you. And I say that about few.
Like what I say goes. LOL.

Gypsy, All should be good. Sent it express. I would hope by Tuesday, you'll have it.

Ox. Still got it? using it? Opinions. Hope that wasn't the cause of your "23 mishap). With no buffeting, the bike dives. ? ? ? I would hope not.

Dutch, Lemmie have it. I can take it. Put it on? Opinions? If you say you're good, again, I'm-ma gonna post the other for sale.

Boing!

2003 Vtechrider, give the word. (Understand you're look'n to re-paint, next yr.)

Drumjack, Get yours?

Scott? Hope all is good. Hope you're out riding!

Wesley, Adam, Clear goes on tonight. Rydn4fun, Get the pics? Ron, Join us tomorrow?

After DIzingS2k5, The C.F. has a production change, and go to $125. Yes $125. C.F. is scarce, and the new process is costly.
The outcome will be much better.

Stock and Z.G. are officially going up too. To $95. Yes $95. Until I get some feed back, as to the universal idea, the parts will remain,
"either-or". (With exception to cutting back the Z.G. pcs.).

Got to paint. Now. More later. Input. Thank you ALL!

Travis - you created a unique product, and you are not in the business of doing this type of thing day in day out.

I give you credit for trying to step up, and be willing to make mistakes. Good for you!!! Lots of naysayers out there will nit pick the imperfections - F$ck em.

A polished and fitted product takes time and repetition, and from what I can tell - you're on the money with the Bug Buster I received today.

I will be installing it tomorrow, and will post up finished pics, and comments on the process.
Great effort on your part, and like I said to you before - send me some inventory and I'll sell them out, up here for you.

You mentioned that the clearcoat is going on...

Just wanted to let you know that I'll be on vacation for the next two weeks. ...with no access to e.mail: wife won't let me bring laptop. ...25th anniv. in Hawaii.

I did an impromptu fitting and it looks good. I'm currently using a ZG screen that I'm gonna sell, but my original plan was to paint and reinstall my stocker and then I'll mount the blocker. I've been too busy riding since you shipped it to do any work on the biyatch. The minute I do, you'll have photos. Sell the other one. You've done good!!

I installed mine permanently today - fit was great. only change to make is to add additional two way tape to the part that attaches to the underside of the oem screen. it didn't want to grab onto it - no big deal, i'll take care of that next weekend.

Great job Travis - looks like it came from mother Honda!! beer.gif

Pop it on with a tack hammer. LOL. Trim Tape. I've been playing with poster putty where it meets the windscreen. That's what i need to clean off, in this pic. LOL. Not that I would b!tch about the wonderful warm, (melting the putty), weather, we've had. Not so runny, after it dries out a bit.

Do tell more about the universal? It might be the way to go since I still have not received my Puig Light Smoke screen so I am still using using my stock one. What makes it universal? Also thanks for remembering. tongue.gif

...Where the black lip that meets the screen needs to go back into the windscreen more. This is easy. And If I go back slightly further, fitment would gain and lose. As for the stock Honda, (100% visible), no one has chimed in with there opinions on it being approx. .300" back. Now I'm looking to go back almost 1/2".

As for the puig, I have not played with one. I Don't know if the radius, (that makes-up the higth), will match. This can be remedied, (if it is a problem), with poster putty, (although I haven't found black), OR a thick black form adhesive. The foam could even be a single sided weatherstrip. The nose is held down with trim tape. The notches also help keep it from, "dislodging", away from the windscreen. Frankly I don't believe the adhesive, to the windscreen, is necessary, (providing all fits tight on the nose area). It's more of a buffer to keep any possible vibrations away.

Hope this helps.

Looks Grreat JAne - I see yours attached to the windscreen at the centre only - as did mine. I was going to add more tape - but I don't think I need it. I did about 100 miles today - and it never moved a millimetre.

Had a few people ask me about the Bug Buster at one of my stops today as well. I am going to get a shot of the first Bee or Wasp that gets the grill treatment - my helmet had a wasp sticking out of one of the vents - so it is the season!!
#25
I want one...waaaaa. Bug season has hit here & I am getting peppered, now they come up under my FF helmet. GOnna have to put the lower wind guard back on....LOL

So Riv,

How much dif is the fit for an MRA touring screen??? Can't be that much from the OEM screen?? Sheeze, even itf there is a gap, its better than what I am getting now!

D-oh! Questions, Jane,....
Would'nt the Buster go further-up on the nose of the bike? Were the, "notches", not deep enough? I AM Glad that you are happy! No doubts of that. I do hope, (as wonderful as a person as you are, {goes for Ken also}, that there's no ego strokage.

They need to be better, but they are what they are. Not sure exactly how to do it. The reason I'm finding for the, "Center-only-adhesion", is as follows,....
The screen, it self, has a tendency to torque on the body of it. Have tried to, "pre-form", the thing, but long story short, this made the overall finished product worse off. The solution, still eludes. Do have a clue, though. The ticket is in putty. Like I said, really, nothing is, "needed", there, (as long as fitment on the nose is good), but it is more of a quality control thing.

This will also help with the universal version.

*TIP* I have found that a pile of poster putty, on cardboard, sprayed with vinyl dye, (black), left to dry, mixed, and repeated, like 5 times, will change the gray, to a sufficient black. -Do this in a well ventilated area!- LOL.

LOL. Tharkun,

Not sure of the diff. Wanna play Guinea? LOL. Just look'n at your gallery, I can tell you, there is a large difference. The only fix, I can see, (with out re-molding), is weather strip. Putty is just gonna ooze out, all over the front of the bike, in warm/hot weather. The problem this creates is, one does not receive the intended, anti-buffeting, as intended with the design of the MRA. If one has watched the progression of this feature, (4th-6th gen., and now different manufactures and bikes), it is becoming more of , "wing", which seems to be broadening into front-end stabilization, as well. unsure.gif Downforce, formula 1, etc. LOL!
#27
SOOOO, you fit these things from the top, not the bottom? goofy.gif
#28
Both. That adds to the Chaos. LOL. Keep in mind, there are 9 radai to match In less than a 1/2' square.

Ox,
What about my proposal? LOL.

Glad you found your way home. Me being an a$$-hat, again. They took the S.B. entrance ramp, off the viaduct, like 13 yrs. ago.
Much trouble finding 23 ? Corruption! LOL.
