I just received my rear tail light but I am still waiting for the fronts.
Unfortunately I found out when I took the sockets out of the original 05 taillight the new orange bulbs do not fit into them.
The bulbs for the red brake light are the same as the 02-05 models but the new orange ones for the clear signals (front & rear) are not and they do not fit in the 05 sockets.
This is turning out to more $$ than i anticipated; but I just thought I would give an update so if you order the clear lenses you do not have to go through this headache.
It seems there should be orange bulbs available that will fit the 02-05 sockets and many auto parts stores or online. What type of bulb do the 02-05 models require?

I think it's the 7443. From Aparamedic: The 6th gen uses
7443 bulbs (available @ pepboys, advance auto, NAPA, etc) for the rear brake and front turn/running lights.
Thanks for the advice about just getting the bulbs I will go check them out later.
In the meantime I thought I would post some pics, just to give you an idea of how the clear rear looks. I also have one quick questions my laser exhaust is leaking water around where it attaches to the cat header.....I assume I just need to tighten the clamp bolt so does anyone have a torque value they can suggest?
I would just tighten it up real good but I don't want a repeat of my oil pan posts!!!!

You should definitely look for silver/chrome bulbs that illuminate orange they will look 100 times better than having those orange bulb egg yolk blues tongue.gif Has your shop given you an eta on the fronts, mine says they don't know.

Your right I am not in Canada, but I am originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia....sorry for the confusion with my Avatar!!! But "I am Canadian"
The release date down here for the fronts was April 18'th and then got pushed back to April 26'th tomorrow. So I guess I will start bugging them on the 27'th.
I assume they just got overloaded with order for them, the rear was almost $200 American if that helps. So in another couple of weeks that should equal a tank of gas for the cage.

Been to autozone, pep boys and advanced auto and none seem to have them in stock. Doesn't really mater as it's raining here in central ohio today. Anyway I'm going to try some other parts stores later. I also e-mail Chris @ Service Honda for the factory part #'s. Hopefully I get the fronts soon as this will look really good on my 03 red vfr.

So did they give you a release date for the fronts?
I think I heard somethng like the 28th of this month. Also my mistake the 7440 are single filmint bulbs while 7443 are 2 filamint. the thing is I thought I read somewere are this site that your running lights and rear turn signils had to be amber. Both the 7440 and 7443 are clear. guess I'll be searching the web for ambers.

Or does somebody have the part number so I can order them. I looked on the Service Honda web page and they don't list 2006 VFR's.

So your local dealer has them for a mindboggling $4.79ea but for some reason you are still hunting around trying to find them at the auto parts places and the internet?
Don't you feel there is some value to the time you spend trying to save 50 cents when you could have already bought them from your local shop and been done with the whole thing?
Just curious...or is it the idea of the hunt that keeps you from buying them from the most obvious place?

LOL...by the way Joe I remember your previous posts so I am now trying to give some of my buisness to my local dealership.
They are kind of making it hard today though.....they connect me to parts and I keep getting the answering machine.....then they don't even return my call. At least they are a good dealership.

There are certain types of people who just enjoy the hunt for alternatives. Trying to save money even if it costs them more to do it wink.gif We have a certain types of customers *cough*Gold Wingers*cough who will drive across the state because the destination sells it for a dollar less. But then, those people are retired and have nothing better to do but to drive across the state for a hot dog and a light bulb.
If your stealership is giving you problems then let the hunt continue wink.gif
TO ALL WHO HAVE ORDERED CLEAR FRONTS. I got my clear signals last week from the dealer. My dealer put them on urgent status so I got them off backorder quicker. Anyway, the front bulb for the original amber lenses is 7443. Before you put you clear lenses in be aware that Honda changed the hole for the bulb in the lens. The original socket will NOT fit the clear lens. You have to buy bulbs AND sockets from Honda for the 06 model. Bulbs and sockets are almost as much as the lenses themselves. But I worked around it. The back of the lens where the bulb goes in comes apart. Use the back plate off your original lens. That still leaves finding bulbs. NAPA carries a 7440 in amber but not a 7443.(at least that is the case at my local NAPA.) There is a small tab in the bulb socket to file off and the 7440 will work. It looks better too because your turn signals still work properly but they do night light up on the second filament while riding for parking lights. I like it better that way. Hope this helps everyone.
Just to let everbody know Honda in their infinite wisdom changed the socket pattern for the rear turn signels. I had to do some carving to get mine to fit. Also had the stealership order the amber bulbs and the one the fisch gave don't work in the rear turn signels. So I'm using a clear bulb until I can find and amber 7443 to fit. Haven't got the fronts yet.
Aghhhh!!! Sounds like a pain in the A$$. I was about to order the front and backs today, glad I read yaw's posts. Saved me a butt-load of time and unnecessary money, including the fact I haven't taken the bike apart, and probably dont know where to start!! But thanks again guys for the information. fing02.gif

Do you have a part number for the 06 sockets?
