I recently retired the Givi windscreen on my 6th gen VFR...actually, it retired itself. The harsh vibration from the extreme turbulence caused the mounting tabs to crack. I think I will keep it until winter and try it out for sleigh riding. If it works, that would be the only good thing I could say for it.

I bought a replacement Puig Racing (double bubble) screen and have a question for any other Puig owners. To start, the mounting tabs on the Puig are not as wide as the factory windscreen. The front most tabs measure about 6 inches apart on the factory screen, but the Puig is only 5 1/2 inches. The rest are equally narrow. Is this normal? I can stretch it to fit, but I don't want to overstress it if it is not supposed to fit this way.
Also, the fit and finish around the body where the mirrors mount are not near as clean as the factory or Givi screens. It actually leaves a gap between the red plastic and the "cowl cover" (black plastic trim on the inside of the windscreen that covers the mounting bolts). It did come with the edging that will probably fill the gap once its installed on the screen, but I wanted to confirm whether this is normal or not before I install it.
My main question here is, are these fit/finish issues normal with the Puig screens or is it possible that this one may have not been done baking when they removed it from the mold?!?! If they are normal, I can live with them as long as I am just like everybody else. However, if it is not and I try to live with it, I don't want to have the mounting tabs breaking on me 500 miles down the road because the screen had to be overstressed to be mounted.
