VFR Discussion Group -> Advanced Race Topics

I have a few track days coming up and I would like to do some reading on motorcycle racing. I have had 3 track days last year and I was progressing well. Most of the topics here have to do with actual races and racers etc. There may have been more topics here in the past and archived off etc.
In any event, I couldn't find any recommendations on any books that would cover advanced track topics and techniques etc. Not much left to search on.

Is there a narrow list of favorites? (or at least a few recommendations)

Keith Code's "Twist of the Wrist" and "A Twist of the Wrist II" are excellent for motorcycle riding techniques. His "Soft Science of Roadracing Motorcycles" is great for the more mental aspects of track riding.

Lee Park's "Total Control : High Performance Street Riding Techniques" and Nick Ienatsch's "Sport Riding Techniques: ..." are pretty good, but are not, to my mind, as integrated and comprehensive as Code's work.

Reg Pridmore's "Smooth Riding the Pridmore Way" has some good stuff, but Reg doesn't believe in counter-steering, which is a fatal misunderstanding. Just goes to show that good riders don't always know conciously what they are doing....

"Motorcycle Track Day Handbook" by Kent Larson I thought was pretty lame.

Try to go to a good track riding school. You'll learn more in a single school day than several unstructured track days, and you'll probably avoid some bad habits. Humans learn athletic skills from visual examples far faster than words. An on-track coach is a great help.

The schools will structure your day and generally isolate skills, so you have only 1 thing at a time to focus your attention on. You will learn faster. Track days can have too many distractions and are often too unstructured.

The track days that I mentioned were at a structured bike school. I should have put that in. My upcoming days are also at the same track under supervision.
