Well I finally made it to Colorado and I will be receiving my bike on Friday, doing oil change and Coolant change...
But I only know the rural area so can my fellow Coloradian please give me some info in regards to were its nice to ride, the twisty the better.
I am in the Powers (Stetson Hills) area and I am dieing to roll.

Point the bike toward the mountains. The rest will take care of itself.
If you have never been at altitude in the mountains, read up on altitude sickness.
And beware that you may get sleepy or disoriented when you come back down the hill.
Have fun. Stay safe. Watch out for the flatlanders and their white knuckle flights.

I am also based out of the Springs.
Some great rides within a hour to two hours - that are somewhat close. From South to the North as follows;
WEST OF C SPRINGS
Hwy 67 north of Woodland Park to 285. Its closed at the moment cause of wash outs takes you into Deckers, over horsepower hill into pine and up a great twisty climb to hwy 285 - road is being repaired.
Hwy 67 to Cripple Creek, then over to Victor for a fun twisty section, turn around back to Cripple Creek and head west out of town, down to High Park Road and over to hwy 50.
SOUTH
Hwy 50 to Salida is fun and scenic along the Arkansas.
Hwy 96 to McKenzi Junction and 165 down to Bishops Castle is a great ride in the wet mountains San Isabel National Forest Area south of Florence into the mountains there.
NORTH FRONT RANGE
Hwy 105 along the front range is not so twisty but is a great back road to Denver connect at Monument then over to Palmer Lake.
Hwy 83 east of I-25 is another good back road to Denver it gets congested though north of Franktown.
DENVER AREA
Good stuff around Denver some great routes around hwy 285 are
Deer Creek Canyon (cr 124), Pleasant Park Road (connect south from Deer Creek), Turkey Creek south and north of 285, and Parmelee Gultch Road, Bear Creek Road to Evergreen early in the morning (otherwise its full of idiots in cars) good stuff. Squaw pass north of Evergreen head to the top of Mount Evans is cool great scenes to the west! The new highway at I-70 called the Central City Parkway is good, it takes you to the Peak to Peak Highway right into Central City strait from I-70 near Idaho Springs.
NORTH OF DENVER
Canyon Roads along the Peak to Peak Highway (hwy 119) all east-west routes along the front range all the way From Golden to Fort Collins, Golden Gate Canyon, Coal Creek Canyon, Boulder Canyon, Left Hand Canyon, Saint Vrain Drive to Lyons, North Saint Vrain to Estes Park. Big Thompson Canyon Road, Stove Prarie Road, hwy 14 Cache La Poudre. check out the ride archive for the reports I wrote on Colorado rides. The Peak to Peak runs from Golden to Estes Park meandering north/south road behind the foothills.

I am on the east side of town in the Stetson Hills area also, between Barnes and Stetson Hills.

Oh, and let's not forget lookout mountain road for the ultimate in twisties! best to ride a low traffic times (not often) but not much gravel, great views, and some wild turns with elevation changes. too bad cars are alowed dry.gif
