since there are so many stinking vfr riders in the atlanta area, i was thinking why they heck cant we all get together to go riding. Those fools over in Charlotte do it monthly, think we can do it once... what say you!? Just a nice day trip to the mtns. Should we aim for next weekend? weekend after...after that one? as for route... Hmm maybe the "Loop", areas north of Unicoi, Highlands... even can do a gap run... DISCUSS!
Hell I would be interested but my schedule is a little iffy for the next weekend or two. Though it would be a bit of a haul from mid-ga. Got a couch I can crash on? goofy.gif

We as well in Mobile, AL are offering trials and classes on VFR fabrication and modification... goofy.gif

Sounds good to me. I'm new to the forum and would like to meet other VFR riders. BTW, I'm going to the dragon on Monday with a couple of FZ-1 buddies and a Valkyrie (sp?) rider. We regularly ride north of Dahlonega on Saturday mornings. I'm the slow rider compared to the FZ crazies. I'll keep watching for an ATL riders ride!

Hey now. I just said you were fools. I dint say y'all couldnt ride. I mean on saturday up at the meet i meerlly watched as soichiro and jeremy556 walked, err, flew away out of site on roads i have been "railing" on for the last year and a half! Now if you guys from the charlotte area would like to come down, feel free. I can use you guys to clear the GSP from 129/Blood Mtn wink.gif
As for the date... Hmm I thinking Oct 7 or 8th. Im banking on the UGA/UT game to be at night! What would be better, saturday or sunday? And meeting time/place? We can meet up like the GSBers do...at the end of GA 400 in Dahlonegah. 9am leave time from there? How many miles would you guys be interested in doing. I can get something as low as 150 to as much as 480...with out using interstates or much 4 lanes. The longer includes Cherohala/Deals gap. Of course there are enough roads around here that anything is possible!

ON a side note.. The Georgia Sport Bike group is doing a rain make up of the BIG ride like the weekend after that i think. And im definately doing that. The first attempt in the rain had 50ish bikes show!
Going on a VFR group ride sounds good to me. As of right now I don't have any other commitments for that weekend of Oct 7-8, but my schedule does change frequently. And I like the idea of meeting up at the end of GA400 around 9:00 and sticking to the roads in north GA.
I'm going to miss that big GSB ride the weekend after. I plan on going to the GNF that weekend, so I'll be at Road Atlanta watching the races. fing02.gif

Kevin, I'd be up for another ride. Unfortunetly every weekend in Oct is booked for me. If I miss this one, I'd like to try the next one.
I'll be heading to the Cherohala tomorrow morning for a day ride biggrin.gif . If anyone's out and sees a VFR with several motards and cruiser or two, stop and say hi.

How would sunday OCT 8 at 9 am.. Meet in the Chevron Parking lot at the end of Georgia 400 in D town. Ride 60/180/129/RR/180 over to 75, take that into helen for some lunch. This will be a ride your own ride deal. If you want to go faster, go ahead. go slower, we will wait at the turns. I know we all have different preferances on our pace. And if you have regular riding buddies that want to join. bring them up. Im not picky. Ill probably have one on a 650r. plus ryan and i.
Let me know if that works for you guys. If you would like a change in route.. i can get us up over to clayton/highlands for some fun too. or we can do that after lunch.. either way! Post up let me know!!!!

Are you going to be there all weekend. Im going to try to sneak out on sunday. I went to the wera races earlier this year and had more fun then i did at the AMA races last year. So GSB ride that Saturday... Wera on Sunday. 20 bucks aint bad for a ticket for all the racing that is going on too.
Count me in, If i can get my wheels back together i should have my wing put on in time for that. I'll be ready to go and hopefully can build some confidence on my new tires. Man i can't wait to start trickin out my bike.

Nope... I-285. haha. No GA 75 is the name of the highway that runs through Helen GA. It gets many people confused. We took it on saturday when we turned off US76 south towards helen. Had several really nice switchbacks and some oscillating turns coming down hill. We turned off of it making a right on to ALT 75 at the tubing place...and then headed to Richard Russel! I am game. I have to leave the Batcave by 630 to make certain that I am at the Chevron by then. I may have another rider from work on an FZ-1.
