Johnnyboy had mentioned a little get together this month. My earliest dates open are....

Oct 9th - Monday/holiday after 9 a.m.
Oct 15th - Sunday after 11 a.m.
Oct 22nd - Sunday, snow still cooperating? anytime

No routing plans yet. We'll see what the weather and peoples schedules bring. Maybe a Morrison or Golden starting point. Post up if anybody has an idea.

15th is my son's birthday, so that's probably out.

My wife heard on the radio there's a benefit ride from Columbine to Platte Canyon sometime soon, anybody hear anything about it or know details?

Sounds good to me. If you guys leave Morrison early, I will catch up to you along the way. I can't make Morrison until about 11a.m..

I did a nice loop today from Morrison to Golden Gate Canyon, up to 119, left into Blackhawk/Central City, over the "new " parkway to Idaho Springs, up 103 past Echo Lake/Squaw Pass and down to Evergreen, then over to Conifer, and down the back way from Conifer to exit Deer Creek Canyon. NO TRAFFIC!!! I saw another VFR in Blackhawk and doubled back into town to try and find him but he slipped away. Red 5th gen -Was it you? The only gravel/sand I encountered was the first 3 miles into Golden Gate from 93 and then a bit in the turns from Squaw Pass/Cloudland area down towards Evergreen.(especially the lower sections where the turns get really tight) They are repaving the lower section of Deer Creek Canyon too. I had about a 10 minute break sitting in one spot waiting on a flag man. Good day to ride, sunny and cool! 130 miles round trip from Littleton.

luckly any route will not be too hard to catch up to if nesessary.

have they done much improvement lately on the SE side of Squaw? earlier this year the road surface was not too good.

Some upper sections of 103 between Echo Lake and Bergen Park have been repaved but not the entire length. I think they went in and removed the worst sections. There were some places with pot holes and some severe frost heaves in the past, but that is gone now. The best news is that they used regular asphalt instead of chip/seal. Some of the really tight turns closest to Bergen Park are still rough. (more cracked than pot holed) With the weather we're having right now, I would suspect some sand is being spread around.

Wow! Three 12 - 14 hour days at work + family responsibilities has wiped me out and kept me off the 'puter a bit. For those that can't make Sunday, no hard feelings, have a blast on Saturday.

I will be at the Morrison Conoco at 11:00 on Sunday, October 15th with an 11:30 departure. Here is my itenerary. If you can join me - super! I would like to have anyone along that can make it. The weatherman says it will be in the 70's. I'll also need some back up at the lunch stop - I can't walk in a Harley joint all duded up ATGATT style all by myself. biggrin.gif

Morrison up the canyon to Evergreen
Evergreen over CO74 to El Rancho
El Rancho west on I-70 to the Central City Parkway (almost to Idaho Springs)
Central City Parkway to Central City
Central City to Black Hawk
Black Hawk east on CO119 to US 6
US 6 west through the short tunnels to I-70 intersection (lunch at Kermitts @ the base of Floyd Hill)
US 6 east (short double back section) down the canyon to Golden

I tried to print up a map, but I can't find a source that will include the "new" CC Parkway. I'm guessing about 100 mile round trip from Morrison. Short notice but I hope to have a few people show!!

I have a buddy with a 600RR who wants in, but due to haveing plans at 1 would like to start earlier. say 9am at morrison connico?

here's the 1/2 day mega-twisty route Im suggesting:

Morrison to evergreen, Little Cub Creek/High Dr over to Terkey Creek, then up to the Oehlmann/Cityview area that takes us to Plesant park/High Grade/S Deer Creek that will take us to Deer Creek Canyon and then on home. The dragon may have 300 curves, but this ride will be close!

I don't have any more plans for Sat, so if some want to continue after that point and maybe grab some lunch, we can decide that when the time comes. let me know if this works and i will blast a mass mail to my riding buds.

I thought this was planned for Saturday the 14th, which I'll try to make. Kinda depends on how early I can get out of bed smile.gif Otherwise, I'll definitely make the Sunday meet at 11a.m. Look forward to meeting you guys!

covfrrider and I had a great ride in cool weather today from 9~11. one of my friends went down, unsure.gif but he and his bike (600RR) will be fine. We had 8 riders including 2 gals on cruisers and a trio of guys with race-reps, the 2 6-gen VFRs and even a Moto Guzzi! We saw another VFR at the gas station when we met, but they did not stop to say hi. dry.gif despite the fall, and lots of gravel on little Cub Creek/High Dr the ride went good, we probably did around 200 curves blink.gif saw a 3.gif and one of the guys on GSXR pulled a few wheel.gif

OK OK OK, memorable day and now a cold beer.gif

Looking forward to tomorrow's ride up to CC

there is a picture out there, but I haven't got it yet, you got it yet Brian?
