New Powder Coated 8 Spoke

I had one of my 8 spokes coated with a super chrome base and a lolipop red top coat. I have not mounted it yet thought I would get your impressions. It looks good against the yellow bike, accenting the deep red in the tail light lens.

Kickin! I thought yours looks great bare with polished lips. They'll look wild on the yellow bike, the wheels should really stand out. Didja have a front done at the same time?

No I did not have the front done. I have an extra but wanted to wait and see how the rear turned out. This rim was oxidized after having the paint stripped a long time ago so it off gased a bit and there are a few very tiny bumps from it but nothing that anyone would ever notice.

no that was one of mine. I think she is waiting to put on new tread before switching.

Looks fantastic, I can't wait to see it mounted.

What did that cost you?

That would look OK on a charcoal grey or black bike, I reckon. Be interesting to see how it looks on Tele's bike too. Oo oo.

I can't wait to see some pics when it's finally mounted, should be VERY interesting!

I have red in places on my 2000. I like it. I put a red hugger on it to see what it would look like. It was too much red in one place for my taste.

Mount up a tire and put it on. Then post the pictures.

I would like to see it.

You won't be able to decide until you put it on.

You only have to remove four easy lug nuts to see what it will look like on the bike.

As for my 2 cents, I think I just threw up a little. Might want to add some neon lites too. (rimshot)

oh I'm sure I will get many responses, both good and bad. Kinda of like fotoMoto's. In the end, its only what I like right? or any of us speaking of our own bikes.

Honestly, I am not that into the choice of color, nonetheless it is a bold choice and looks to be quite well-executed. You WILL post photos of it mounted I trust?

Reno blast & coating charges �40 a rim. That's if you remove the bearings, plug the threadholes and you want silver or a RAL color.

Sometimes the red/yellow combo goes really well. I'd like to see this one quick fast and in a hurry.

I guess I will wait to see what it looks like when it is on, but I don't know why you changed what you had. The grey rims on the yellow bike look great to me. Also, I thought you weren't supposed to PC the bead surface as it will make mounting tires more difficult.

never heard to not PC the bead surface. I have two others that it was no problem.

Very nice, also goes to show how little I know about powdercoating... I thought it came in black and silver and white. Had no idea you could get so colorful!

Nope, no problems with doing it. I find it's even easier to slide a new tire on the PC lips.
