VFRShark (Doug) and I will be there. We are leaving Tampa on the 18th and leaving Daytona on the 22nd hopefully heading to the meeting at the Garlitz museum. Let us know if there is a gathering and where it is.

Monster Dash: Take a parade lap around Daytona International Speedway on Friday night, Oct 20 followed by a party that will include the band �Taboo� in the NEXTEL FANZONE and the Budweiser Bistro. The parade lap will begin once track activities are finished at approximately 7 p.m. with the party to follow in the NEXTEL FANZONE. Tickets for Monster Dash, which cost $30 per person and include two free draft beers, will be available on Speedway property on Thursday, Oct. 19 and Friday, Oct. 20 before the Monster Dash begins. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 1-800-PITSHOP or online at www.racetickets.com. Proceeds from the Monster Dash will go to the Betty Jane France Suite Dreams Project, which benefits seriously ill children at Halifax Medical Center and Volusia County.

Here are my thoughts on this non-railing, yet curvy Biketoberfest meet on Saturday, Oct 21st.

OPTIONAL: 8:30 am - Meet at the Honda tent at Lot 1, outside the Front Stretch. Attempt to register for a demo ride on something cool... Will depend on how the crowd/lines are. Not sure when Demo registration actually opens up proally 9 (as reported) or earlier, but the last time I got there late morning and the demos were all signed up for... if can get in sign up for a demo or two later in the afternoon...

1. 9:00-9:30 ish - Meet at the new Honda dealer on International Speedway/I-95... Jim Walker's Cycle World. www.cycleworldofdaytona.com. Sounds like a cool place, haven't been there yet, might have some specials or cool stuff to look at, never know, he opens at 9 am.

2. Head on over to THE Speedway and check out the Daytona Motorcycle Marketplace... Jeremy's worst nightmare (a m/c shopping extravaganza goofy.gif ) www.kickstandcity.com Last year surprisingly there was a good bit of stuff in these tents for sport bike riders... Cortech/Teknic/Belstaff/Marsee, etc had some nice displays... There is some racing going on, but sounds like its some sort of Endurance race, not sure how that would be to watch...

3. I'm pretty flexible on lunch, but a suggestion might be to head on over to Racing's North Turn Beach Bar & Grille, "Where Motorcycle Racing Began" or so they claim. Supposively located right on the beach by the former Turn 1 was located back in the day. www.racingsnorthturn.com It's not exactly a Tiki Bar by any stretch but they do appear to have a decent sized deck out on the beach.

Of course with Trace in attendence we'd end up having alot of this around us...

or maybe, just maybe we can coerce Trace to give us a close up view of the curves that Florida does, indeed have...

4. After all that excitement we can head over to Main Street and mingle with the maggotry, hang out at The Wreck and watch the Circus, etc... maybe take in some Froggy's or Boot Hill or Corbin activities... should be some bands playing by late afternoon over that way, could be interesting...

Of course it could be time for the Demo action by then as well (if you can get one)... if anyone wants to meet up, those are my thoughts and they're pretty flexible.

Not a lot of riding other than getting there and back I know, but still either way, should be some fun to be had... what do you all think?

Didn't read everything, but I am tied up on the 21st. Also, a parade lap around a racetrack is a coma inducing pace, like if you were on a bicycle you would be frustrated how slow you are going.

Sounds good to me, except 8:30 in the AM until dancing in the streets at midnight makes for a looonnnnggggg day. I've eaten at the North Turn...in fact, mq105 and I were there last spring...when theoxmole was supposed to join us but had "digestive problems". Great place, and far enuff away from the downtown maggotry....maybe. Maybe not....they know about it, too. Didn't see those lovely ladies there. Well, not those EXACT lovely ladies, anyway.

Anyway, nice framework Rob. Gives us something to rally around!!

Option 2, head to Barber motorsports park for Vintage Motorcycle Days South...

Less naked chicks, more cool motorcycles. Attendees on the 20th will get to see me embarassing myself on the racetrack.

PS. Funny that I got this and another message about Daytona today... apparently the 928 Owners group is having "Sharktoberfest" around the same time... hillarious... too bad I couldn't pull my bike down with the 928? smile.gif

The registration usually starts at 8:00 am, however the people start to line up from 7ish. So, if we really want to demoride then we have to be there early. But I am not sure there is demoride on Saturday. Last time I checked ,during BikeWeek, there was not demoride on Saturday. sad.gif I can check this out for sure once the Honda tent is up and I will be able to talk with somebody there.

Is Biketoberfest like a "Bike Week" for non-Harleys?

You guys do make really good quality T-shirts by the way; my 1994 Bike Week T-shirt may have lost some colors (oops sorry, no colors allowed biggrin.gif ), it is still wearable!

And I can vouch for the curves Daytona has as well.....

Well I am def. going down (non pun intended) on Sunday. I might have to work Saturday and worse case scenario I will be leaving work at 12pm Sat. So we shall see....and yes I have a bike week t-shirt from 1997 still! smile.gif

Must.. demo.. VFR! Seriously.. If they arent doing demos I have no reason to go. Why would I want to meet/hang out with you people anyway tongue.gif
