I have called the NAAVFR to report you for cruelty to your VFR, leaving it out in the elements to be cold and icy and assaulted by passing-by animals. It deserves a nice heated garage, sealed floors, fresh oil and a refrigerator of cool brews, maybe even a telelvision to watch races on ( pissed.gif for poor Nicky still).

I should expect this in the coming weeks/months also. Luckily, I have a place to store the bike.

I got sunburned when riding last Friday.

same story here. snowed over night - about an inch. there's still 1/2 of october left. i'm optimistic of one last fall ride. fingers crossed.

So why does some snow end the riding season? tongue.gif

Bring your bikes to San Diego, we'll be happy to exercise them, and keep them happy over the winter. I can't stand to see a VFR treated like that (frozen, outside). cool.gif

Dear Sir,
I do apologize, but this horrible creature called a "weather man" lied, there was only supposed to be rain, I will rectify the problem as soon as possible, there should be at least one more ride at the end of the week at the end of which will be a nicely heated garage with fresh synthetic oil change, washing and buffing and whatever other pampering I can think of to make it up to my bike for leaving it outside in the cold.

Yeah, in Texas spring and fall both last about a week. We also have snow for at least 1 day.....every two or three years. goofy.gif

Mine goes in the garage for the winter, but if the roads are clear (and dry) and the temp is above 35-40, out she comes. I was riding on a warm day in February this year with 3' snowbanks on each side of the road racing a snowmobile. My only hesitation is the salt on the roads. When the snowbanks melt and the roads are wet it makes a mess to clean up on the bike.

I want a heated garage so that I may pamper my bike. Does anybody know if you can fit a 6th gen through a standard exterior door? She'd be happy in the basement if I get her in.

Donot know for a 6th gen, but I would get my 4th through a front lobby door, into a small elevator to the 2nd floor, around 2 corners into a storage room (lived in a really crap area). I did this day in day out. With the help of this little friend. Say Hello To My Little Friend!!!

With the bike parked on top, you can roll it around its own center if yu want.

Now I use it twice a year to roll in/out in the gardenshed (damn, I WANT a garage, AND I want one of them hydraulic lifts!!!!!) for the wintersleep.

I rode to work, dinner and back home last Thursday in 30-40 degree temps, w/some wind. Got pretty cold during the 30-mile ride home from the restaurant that night, but I still loved it.

A couple brief flurries that day tho nothing stuck. Still, kinda weird to see snowflakes on my bike's seat. I'll keep riding 'til it's below freezing and/or snow sticks to the roads. I'm not ready for winter!

Riding season is just about to get started here. Down to 84 for the high today, should have nice cool weather here soon.

Yep, winter's here. I started growing my beard last week.

If you southern boys keep yippin about how wonderful your weather is your liable to end up with a whole lot of us notherners on your doorstep expecting free room ,board and cold beer to with your warm weather.

Don't listen to them. For every corner they have, they have 27 old women driving 40 ft tour busses that are hiding from the snow.

Snow Birds - people that travel from the north in the winter to the south to spend winter in the southern states. Snow birds are generally unsafe behind the wheel, because they often "live" in states that offer drivers licences for 40 years at a time. They also have complete disregard for young "punk" kids driving cars, trucks, bicycles, or motorcycles. You can have the long warm straight congested roads, in the winter. I'm doing mods/maintenance at a leisure pace this winter.

i assume by curves, you meant the women who still frequent our beaches in mid feb.....right?

Its getting cold up here in KY. I've been teasing all my riding buddy's here about me moving to FL in 2 weeks. No lack of riding season for me this year. As much as I'm gonna miss the curves, riding straight is better than not riding at all I suppose. I say this now, Give me a month and I'll update you on that statement =)

I'm doing mods/maintenance at a leisure pace this winter.

That must be why there are so many sportbikes in FL - easier to get around, ahem, "acceleration-challenged" drivers with race reps that redline over 15k! I always think it's ironic that the boats our experienced citizens drive have V6 or V8 engines since all they really need are 4-cylinders, considering how slow they drive.

Mods to my bike this winter: Thinking about steel-braided brake lines and chopping the rear fender this winter. Might also ditch the original levers and get some Pazzos. Original tires are getting a little thin but I think I can get at least another 1k mi out of them. Also thinking about painting the chain guard to match the bike color (red, of course). I'd really like to install sliders, but not sure I'm ready to try doing it myself yet.

I'm not a big mod guy and I like my '04 as it is, all stock now as it was when I bought it 2 months ago, but I'd like to make 'er "mine", ya know? Separate it a bit from the other bikes out there.
