Perhaps, but most so-called Harley "custom or semi custom bikes up to order" means lots & lots of lower tech chrome plated junk (Screaming Eagle etc). That's not what I am referring to even if some of the underlying manufacturing technologies can be the same as my references. Similar clich?d shop-worn options have been available on various autos over the years too.
Not only that, but Harley's and Harley parts are far more generic, cookie cutter and interchangeable than the much wider array of Honda bikes and parts could ever hope to even come close to, and this also lends itself much more easily to so-called "custom work" for Harley.
For example: where are the custom high tech engineering solutions from Harley?
For example: how many engine configurations does Harley have? One (maybe you could argue two inclusive the V-Rod - maybe).
For example: where are the custom engine configurations outside of the clich?d shop-worn air cooled V-twin?
For example: I doubt there is a large OEM based demand for custom chrome plated VFR fenders and custom chrome plated VFR throttle body covers.
For example: what color would you like your authentic real American buggy whip?
