Someone here was selling a used (Carbon Fiber) one for a 4th gen recently (last week) for around 200+ bucks. Try seraching with the term "CF" or Carbon Fiber.

I spoke to that guy. he did want 200 plus shipping but it was a carbon fiber. i'm looking for plastic not a fan of carbon. I noticed that you also passed on that one also....I think i might just try Pyramid direct if no body has one. or if that guy on this site makes them for the 1997. I'd rather pay home grown talent than send my money to the UK but in the big picture it all goes together...Thanks for the heads up...have a Merry Christmas, Tom

Hi Tom, I'd recommend a different brand - I bought the black plastic unit from Pyramid (for a sixth gen), and inside of six months it had cracks all along the mounting surfaces, and a large crack running cross-wise above the swingarm. Being a frugal bastard I'm repairing/strengthening/and adding weight with fiberglass, and will repaint with a krinkle coat, or red to match the bike. Just wouldn't want you to be disappointed, Chris

I ended up getting my plastic Pyramid hugger from Dynamo Humm, and they called the UK and got it. I have a feeling Pyramid had to make a new batch, because it took a while. This way, the $ went through Canada first! I think the price was actually cheaper that ordering direct from Pyramid, though.
Rivcyko is "that guy", and although he is a master fabricator, I don't think he has made anything for the 4th gen, but you could always ask. He may need a donor piece, though.

(IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/ohmy.gif) Uh-oh. Mine's in month #4! We'll see how it goes long-term. So far, it's got around 2,500 mi, and looks fine. I did have to play with the mounting washers so it wouldn't rub the rear tire, but mine seems really well made. Did yours not have the grommets and isolator bushings? I wonder if they updated the design? Edit: I re-read your post and saw yours is for a 6th gen. I wonder if the quality went down...
Thurn still makes a hugger for the 4th gen. Dutchy may already have his. Unfortunately for you, it's carbon fiber. I don't remember off-hand if anyone else still makes one.
I had a pyramid on a 6 gen before, also had problems. not only was it rather ugly, it cracked all over within the first year. My NWS on the other hand, is lasting and looks great. If Rivcyko made one for earlier models I would definitely recommend it, He does very nice work. He is his own worst critic. "it is what it is", "not perfect" etc. I have seen a bit of his work and it is top notch.

Is NWS a US company???Do they have a website....I'd like to add one to the bike but i'm patient whether it's hand made or from another company. Just trying to add a quality piece to the bike, thanks for the reply....Tom
I might resort to just adding a small flexible black plastic flap (Found one meant for a motocross fender) behind the shock of my 4th gen. Them Hugger Thingamajigs are just too expensive for what they are. There's a small plastic tang/ledge at the bottom of the battery box that I can bolt/screw the flap to. It should be one of my coming winter projects. Anyway, I think some huggers make the rear wheel area look visually heavy ......but that's just my opnion. I'll still try out a full rear hugger if I can ever find one cheap enough. For say, like 80 bucks OTR?......I know, dream on....

Won't lie, it would be a while before production, and I am leery about not having a 4th gen., in the garage to test fit on. That could be a bummer, as I'm not looking to dissapoint or inadvertantly piss members off, if I run into snags. In short, I'm not opposed, but you would have to talk me into it, and be patient with me.

Rivcyko I saw your handy work in the pictures on this website. The stuff was very nice and professional. I you are thinking about a 4th generation hugger i'll be glad to get on that line. I saw your price and i have no problem paying you for your fine work. Keep me in mind if you decide to try it out. I'm patient. Do you need both a bike and an existing hugger to make one? During the Winter, my bike doesn't need it, but the rear tire might get cold. If mine is going to fall apart anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/pissed.gif) , I would order the next one from you, too. Might as well get one to copy from while it's in one piece!
