hmmm, you must have mind control powers colonel!
im in for anything thats decided,so count me in.
ive been searching since june for people to ride with who share similier attitudes.
and to anyone who thinks its too cold, you forget all that in the first twisty.

i may even borrow the cash so i can get my new rubber early so im not stuck on the ninja.
but any way about it,i felt i did hold you back last week with my vfr's square wheels.
plus got a bit unnerving in a few corners.

No way you held me back, just going the pace - very nice ride.

OK, Deathstar is in, who else? Oxmole? TimC? Other Ohio Riders? Anyone feeling adventurous and going to ride from another state?

You know I'd love to but that's a bit far for me to call a "day trip." I'd be crossing the whole state. . . twice. That combined with the fact that I'm coughing my lungs out thanks to all of the "holiday cheer" that was spread in the past week. I'll catch up with you guys but it won't be Friday. Have fun!

i pulled up your location on google and that is a long haul! in the summer it wouldnt be bad at all,but now would be more hassle than fun.
hopefully you can at least get out a bit yourself with such a nice weekend coming.

the colonel is the first vfr member ive met and the first person ive actually ridden with and i look forward to doing it more.its alot more fun to ride with friends than alone all the time.
btw hope you feel better!

OK, here are the ride details:

Assembly Area: Meet at the Sunoco station in the intersection of Rt 56 and 23 in Circleville. Wheels in motion at 11:00am.

Planned Route: Down Rt56 to Hocking Hills area - this is the site of Car and Driver's new car testing loop!. Will go through the Hocking forest on 664 and dump into Logan. From there we will take Rt 93 - 216 -78 into McConnelsville for Lunch. Head south on Rt 60 including Big Botton State Park along the Muskingham river. From Stockport, head north again towards Zanesville and loop back to 93 to Logan, through the Hocking Hills area and back to the starting point in Circleville.

Distance: As long as we want or as short as we want. The above is just some options.

Hope to see you at the Sunoco in Circleville. If you are going to be there or be late, just call my cell 614-570-1332.

See you tomorrow, Colonel

I haven't been checking this site since I put my bike on the ol' Battery Tender. Anyway, while I can't make this ride, it sounds like a great route. My son is finishing up at OH down in Athens, and we've driven 555 and some of nice roads in a car, but never had my bike down there yet. I'll be checking for a similar ride in the spring. Hope you guys have a great time, and I'm really jealous.

and have a happy new year.

Wish I could, but my parents are visiting 'til Saturday plus my VFR is still out of commission for now. Hoping to have 'er back up within a week with a new (to me) rear tire and new levers. Have a great ride guys!

Well fellas, I didn't get out with you guys but I DID get out!

I took part of my favorite loop today about 1 o'clock. Temp was 44 when I rolled out of the driveway. All I could keep telling myself on the way there is "don't forget you're on cold tires." Then I got to the good part. The tires were warm by then. Have you ever had one of those days when you just wish for the car you're coming up on to turn out of your way. . . and they do? That was today. Traffic was light and the roads mostly clear. The one point that sticks out was approaching my favorite "S" turn in the road just outside of Grand Rapids. As I'm approaching it at about 80 I look at the posted speed which is 30. I think maybe I'll scrub off a little more speed and slow down to 70. As I look through the turn I realize it's PLASTERED with gravel. Whoa boy, and brake down to about 50. Just as I start to turn in and tip toe through the gravel I see a state trooper coming the other way. Was it karma or just good luck? I don't know. Anyway I got in about 75 miles. Not a whole lot but I was grinning the whole time; just to be on the bike at this time of year was a joy. I got as far as Napoleon and pulled off for a picture.

I was half expecting to run into Bunsel somewhere out there, just because I always hope to. I did do his patented on route 6 - off route 6 run though! I always get a kick out of it.

After this I headed home because my fingers were a little numb. It was 44 when I pulled back into my driveway. Like I said before, I was thrilled to get out. I hope you guys had fun too!
