Is any Northern CA members riiding the Polar Bear run tomorrow? If so I would like to meet and shake hands with fellow forum riders. Easy to spot me I'm the girl in the wheelchair (freezing her wheels off!).
10th Annual Polar Bear Run! Saturday, January 6th, 2007 1 to 2 hour ride thru the Sierra Foothills with a lunch stop. Leave Jamestown Harley-Davidson at 12 noon, rain or shine. $5.00 donation to M.D.A gets a run pin for the first 250 riders to sign up.

I don't know how you folks in Canada can stand the long winters. I'm going nuts with the snow here in the Rockies. And believe me, the charm of shoveling snow has long since vanished.

It gets that cold in the Bay Area. I grew up there and I was there a few weeks ago and it was sub 50 degrees. Go even further North and it gets into the 20's and 30's in the winters regularly (in the winter). Remember, CA is a big place. Only SoCal is seasonless. And, even in SoCal there are spots that have freezing temps. Last month I was riding back from the Anza Borrego desert and I got snowed on. And, that's just outside of SD county.
Dude, you didn't get snowed on in Anza. That is nearly impossible. I challenge you to come up with some kind of proof. I just can't believe it.

I don't want to take away from your group ride. It's all good. Group rides with members are ALWAYS cool. Please don't take my comments as negative. It's just that us "over here" deal with this every year. We've been lucky enough to still be in the 50s for highs. It should be 20 degrees with a windchill of 0 right now. I'm sure we'll pay for it shortly.

That rocks! When we finally get snow I'm pushing my bike out into the driveway and snapping a picture. The only bike I've ridden in the snow was a Suzuki 125 dirt bike. . . about 15 years ago!
