Valve Check @ Georgetown Honda

I'm just giving a little testemonial for Georgetown Honda in Georgetown TX.

$230 for valve check with a smile.

Need a more detailed report.
What exactly did they do?
What parts did they install?
Do you have a detailed breakdown of the repair order?
Did they use the locking pin tools as they should have?
Wassup?

Dejavu. Unless there are unusual circumstances, the service was most likely not done correctly.

All these seem to me to be fair questions.

It doesn't take much to keep track of which dealers are able to check/set VTEC valves and do it in a reasonable and professional manner at a fair price.

Keeping track of this seems to me like a reasonable use of the internet. Whether or not HS wants us to do this on his board is another matter. Hopefully he will respond to this and let us know.

There was an on-going story on the Goldwing list around this time last year about a Honda dealer that tried to extort $1,000.00 from a Goldwing owner who needed his cracked frame repaired. This dealer threatened to make the owner wait a month or two unless the owner was willing to pay this $1,000.00 over and above what Honda was going to pay the dealer for the warranty work.

The short version of the story leads to the ending that says, "After the NTSB lawyers got finished talking to Honda's lawyers, Honda sent a new frame with an identical VIN number overnight to this dealer who then put his best mechanic on the job until it was finished. The total job time was about a week".

It is good to hear reports like this one talking about a dealer who does good work at a reasonable price. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)

That very thought turns my stomach, and is exactly why no one else will ever touch my bike, even if it takes me twice as long because I have to learn how to do it first. It beats riding the bike, and not being sure of the work. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/warranty.gif)
