High mount won't cut it with hard bags, so I need to swap.

You can shim/modify the hard bag mounts outward for clearance. It's been done before.

Yes, and I started out that way, but it's not a very elegant solution. And it looks every bit of it.

But, in the end, I rotated the pipe a little bit, just enough to get some 1/2" clearance for the bags, I'll need to make a bracket spacer of about 1" at the footpeg/pipe attachment point. It's displaced a bit from the rear perspective, but looks OK otherwise.
Much better than shimming the mount 1.5 inches, and then you'd have to bend the atttaching bracket to meet the footpeg mount anyway.


Still would like a low mount though.

Boy am i tempted.....
But I am thnking of putting some bags on, so maybe I should keep my 'tunes. dry.gif
