Warning Sticker Removal

I am planning to remove the warning stickers from my gas tank. What is best solvent to use to peel them off the tank that won't damage the finish?

Goo Gone. Get the corner of the sticker up and if you are careful it will peel right off.

Believe it or not, if it is really cold out, they will peel right up too. Most adhesives fail in the presence of extreme cold and heat. (Duct tape is a great example!)

Yeah, but the bike goes faster without them.

A blow dryer and a can of WD40 is all you need.
Soften the sticker with the dryer to remove it. Then squirt a little WD on the remaining glue and rub it with a T-shirt.

If you don't have Goo Gone or WD40 or whatever, just use gasoline.
Or paintbrush cleaner.
Or turpentine.
Or methylated spirits.
Or kerosene.
Or cheap whisky.
Or tequila.
Or your wife's/girlfriend's/boyfriend's perfume (the one you don't like the smell of).

+1.gif Just make sure not to over heat or burn the sticker and/or the paint...

Well good for this thread cause I have some I'm going to remove!! :thumb:

For some reason I am getting a funny picture in my head 2003_VTEC_Rider of me leaving my bike outside to get it nice and cold!!! unsure.gif LOL!! (Not that it would still BE there in the morning I'm sure ...)

The sticker/tag police have been notified.

They shall be along shortly, after they bust some hump over if Okaloosa, some renegade out there pulled of his friggin' mattress tabs.

That reminds me - I have some "HECC" stickers to remove.

3M adhesive remover. Available at normal parts stores.

Oops - it's actually HECS 3.
So that would be "Hippy Environmental-Consciousness Sh1t."

Apparently it stands for "Honda Environmental Catalyzing System (3)".
So, it's Hippy/Greenie Crapola in other words.

And as of tonight, history.
No point in modifying my bike to spew more partially burnt petroleum distillates / noise into the atmosphere if it has a sticker saying how clean and green it is, is there?
