Vfrtiger's White Powercoat Wheels

VFRtiger finally got the wheels powdercoated to match her bike. Work was done by American Powdercoating in Tampa. They ordered special paint to ensure they got as close as possible to the Pearl White....in the pic they almost look whiter than the bike, but they are actually a perfect match

Looks great. Not going to be really easy to keep clean, but looks great non the less. +1 job.

I hate to tell you this now, but while you had the wheels off, that would have been a great time to put 2 coats of the hardest paste wax you could find on them. Sure helps to keep them clean.

It really gives the bike a clean look. Might make it faster than a red bike, too.

In that vein, I've long liked the red paint with yellow wheels scheme, after seeing it on some cars. Am I crazy to like that? Would it look good on a red 6th gen?

Maybe somebody can play around with that idea using Photoshop. Throw something up here to gawk at.

It's okay if you hammer me a little. I've got a thick skin.

I always wax the wheels, especially before exposing them to salt air like Daytona Beach and Key West. I learned this trick from hubby, and it also came in handy in the far north where they used salt on the roads. Thank God those days are long gone!

Thanks for all the kind comments. I like having a bike that doesn't look like everyone else's and having fun with them as well. Keeping the wheels clean shouldn't be too much of a hassle since I wipe the wheels down after each ride anyway.

The best... your bike looks fantastic. And yea, Honda should have sent the bike with the wheels in the same color. It looks great!

Nice job. I have considered doing the same thing to my bike once the new paint is done. Now I am even more tempted to do so (and no, it won't be white like yours). fing02.gif
