I have a new batch of mirror extenders finished for both 5th gen and 6th gen bikes. The 5th gen extenders were made to fit the 2000 and 2001 models. They will fit a 1998-99 bike, but they'll look a little goofy. If you have a 98-99 with Y2K mirrors, then these will work perfectly.

All my extenders come with the necessary longer bolts, and I even supply stainless steel bolts so they don't look all rusty after your first wash.

Special thanks to Rivcyko, Seadooloo and KWB377 for the props on the first post. (Please contact these guys for a reference.)

Also thanks to the 6 members who have already paid. You will have your extenders shortly.

I also made one pair of "kidney shaped" extenders (see pic below). I was more or less playing around on the sander and thought maybe someone might think this style is kind of cool. You could mount the "hollow" area either facing down to conceal and save weight and fuel mileage (ha!) or perhaps install the "hollow" area up and make that a place for some turn signal LEDs.

regular and kidney shaped

Here's a pic of the 5th gen extender installed on my bike.

better shot

I have about 3 extra sets of each not spoken for.

$22 shipped for the 6th gen, $42 shipped for the 5th gen. Please add $5 if you're in Canada.

I'm also not looking to scam people. If you buy them and hate them, just send them back and I'll give you a full refund.

PM me with interest. Thanks.

Hi Lobster,

If you have any regular 6th gen version left I am interested. Hate looking at my arms in the mirrors. I will sent you a pm.

I just installed y2k mirrors on my '98 using the extenders you made for my original condom mirrors. The old style seem to work fine with the y2ks on the '98. The only thing I've got to work on is the brass underplate, which is oddly shaped and larger. I'm hoping the one for the y2k is different/smaller. But the extenders (old style anyway) work/look great.

the "brass" plate you speak of is ment only to give you something to wrap the condom around. You need only use the new gasket that you ordered with your mirrors and lobsters fine spacers to mount them right.

6th gen extenders are sold out!

I'll see if I can get some plastic in a smaller piece(s) to make a new batch as I have at least one VFRD member on a waiting list.

Please PM me with further interest, as the acrylic is pretty pricey, and I'd like to have a decent amount of interest for a new batch to help recover the cost of the acrylic. (If you're curious, the last piece I bought was about 22"x15" and cost around $150)

Serious thanks to all of you who purchased a set this spring. Thansk for the business.

Also thanks to those of you who gave me props publicly for the work done on these. (kwb377, seadooloo, silver#788, Rivcyko, and a few others I likely forgot)

I went to my local plastics place today to see what they had in 1.5" thick plastic...either all black or paintable. Acrylic must be even more expensive now then when I bought it last time as they wanted to charge me ~$130 for a 10"x10" piece!!!

Anyway, they happened to have a piece of all black HDPE lying around and I got a good deal on a 12"x12" piece (they had a customer walk out on an order). I'll make another 6th gen batch from this piece, but please know they might be a little different. You can't paint HDPE, so I'll have to do a little prototyping to see how nice of a finish I can get through sanding / polishing / flaming. If they turn out crappy, then maybe I'll offer them at a discount...we'll see.

Here's the waiting list so far (for 6th gens):

Dr.Dna3 (2 pairs)
RideRedWA
QDawg

Please send me a post if you're interested, as I have enough raw material now for about +/- 10 pairs.

I still have 2 more pairs of the 5th gen Y2K extenders available.

Thanks to all for the business. Proceeds are going to fund my sliders!!!

More to come.
