Well I was at Bikefest in Leesburg today and saw a guy doing gel lilke inserts from some place called Butt Buffer(I say gel like because it's not actually gel, it's not liquid yet it feels like gel). So I asked if they could do a VFR seat after sitting on one of the pads and he said yes, so I was like Sweet! I'll try one out and see how I like it and maybe that will save me $450 on a Corbin. So they reshaped the top ever so slightly to try and relieve some of the pressure points as well as carved out the foam for the gel insert (large pad) and then put another thin foam layer over that before restapleing the cover back on. I have to say they did a top notch job and was very impressed with the work.
But to no avail. For me personally I didn't like it. It was far better then the stock seat but for me not as comfy as a Corbin. I think its just the way my physiology is that the stock seats put pressure on certain parts that just cause me to ache. I know some people can ride the stock seat for 650 miles no problem (Jeremy) I just can't. It was an experiment that didn't work out for me.
That brings me to this post. I'm going to sell it and try to at least get some of my investment back as well as maybe help someone else out with a more comfy seat who also wants to save a few $$$. I put $175 into this morning, rode it home and though it was much better then stock still isn't right for me. So if your interested I'll sell it for $120 plus shipping. It's kinda heavy now that the gel in is in it so I imagine shipping to be around $20. If your looking for something better then stock but don't want to shell out for Sargent or Corbin this might be the perfect alternative. I just ordered the Corbin today.
If you want more info on what it is go here http://www.buttbuffer.com these are the guys that did it and they are good.
I posted a picture but you I don't think you can really see anything it looks bone stock, you can't tell until you either pick it up (its heavy) or sit on it. All though you can see that the ridges at the edge are gone and the seat is thicker around the gas tank (actually a thicker all over but not enough to effect seat height) and a little more flat:

If anyone is interested let me know. I take paypal with all major credit cards to wjmorgan@tampabay.rr.com you can also email me there or PM me. If you want to call me just send a phone number and I'll ring you back.
EDIT: PRICE REDUCTION $100 + Shipping! If your still on the stock seat this is a great alternative!
