Repairing Fuel Tank

I have found a 1984 VFR500 that has a fuel tank in need of repair. It has pin holes in the bottom of the tank. Can this be repaired???? Or would I need to get another tank. I am just wondering if it is worth it. I was thinking of getting this bike for my 17 y/o son, to learn on. I am about to pick up my new to me 1996 VFR750. fing02.gif

I'm not sure if I would bother. The repair, (inside coating), I believe is for rust only, not pin holes.
