Tap Plastics Weld-on 2354 For Abs Repair

I have some minor cracking in a few places on my bodywork, and I don't want them to get any worse (naturally). I don't think plastic welding is necessary in this case, as the cracks are not visible from the outside. Has anyone used this product to repair ABS, and if so, what was your experience (ease of use, application, cure time, strength of repair, etc.)?

I haven't used that particular product, but Plastifix by Urethane Supply works quite well on ABS fairings.

As does Plastex.

Well, I bought some and applied it with the syringe applicator per TAP's instructions. It works pretty well. The consistency of the stuff is like water, so you have to be very careful about applying small amounts. So far, the repair seems pretty strong; I'm going to wait for another day or so before I re-install the fairing.

At the same time, I found out that the center "V" cowl is not made of ABS. It's COC (cycloolefin coploymer), which is not affected by this product. I'm lucky that the Weld-on didn't have any deleterious effects on COC. I still have a small crack in that piece, so I'll look for another repair option for that.

That's interesting, I was looking at some scrap CBR1100XX plastic I have, and noticed that it appears to be quite different to the ABS of the VFR panels - very flexible. I plan to test Plastex on it (I'd like to use some of the XX plastic for my mods) but I'm not holding my breath.
