VFR1000 for WSBK in 2008?

Hopefully not a repost. I just saw it anyway.

A VFR1000 racebike for 2008, and a model for the showroom (that's you and me!) for 2009. :salesman:

Uh...I think they'll be running the '08 1000RR that has just been leaked. Specs aren't out yet but my Honda source that saw the bike says it's about 20lbs lighter than the '07 and is supposed to be 20% more powerful as well. He also thought it looked better in person than in the pics....let's hope so :goofy:

I don't know where these people come up with these silly, illogical rumors and photoshops that they seem to have so much fun spreading. Honda will be running the 1000RR in superbike classes just like it has since it's inception...the only difference being that it will be the new '08 model ;)

Yawn, another terrible Photochop job.

Give it another month and we'll be free of the Adobe Bikes for another year.........

(notice the lack of a SSSA on the bike in question. It's a 1000RR piece)

Obviously you guys aren't Honda salesman.

make me a believer ........real only!!!!!!

I think like just about (most) everyone else - I'd love to see less weight and more power (in my VFR too!) HA!

1000cc's - that would be great, no doubt.

In the meantime, I'll have to be satisfied with the good all-around form and function of my '04. Oh yah, reliability too. It never hurts to wish for more though.

Ride on!

The Aprilia V4 shown on that linked page is very sharp. I know Aprilia has been working on a new V4 engine. Anyone know if that bike for real or another PhotoShop job?

Another BS Job I guess, but I wish it was true.
But if it sounds too good to be true.... Umm, something something..... Doh! :goofy:

Latest Australian Motorcycle News has a pic of what is supposedly the new V4 Aprilia, and it looks very different to the one in the link mentioned (which just looks like an RSV to me, same frame and all). Had a look for the pic online now but no go (AMCN says the pic appeared a week or so ago and was quickly removed, much like the 08 CBR1000RR - viral marketing, nothing new here folks.

The bodywork in the AMCN pic is curvy, more like a 250 GP bike's styling (especially the tail) than the recent anglular trends seen on other bikes.

But....Honda corporate has already announced the 08 VFR 800 and it's completely identical to the 07 except for paint color. Major disappointment.

The artical stated that it will have an 08 announcment with bikes in showrooms in 09.
It would be very cool if Honda can take on Ducati again in WSB.
If Ducati's success in MotoGP conitnues, and the challange to the WSB with the Bigger Twins (1098) works out,
It will take the full force of Honda's money to upset them.

Truly horrible styling on a photochop monstrosity. I wouldn't buy it even if it was real.

Please let the insanity end.

And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed

There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

Is this the Adobe model?
That is one fantastic-looking bike. Too bad it's fictional.

I cannot read French at all, so I don't know what the article says, however, the bike
doesn't look like a Honda bike.
If I were 20 years so younger, I might be able to ride it,
but I prefer the geometry of the current VFR800.

That is a beautiful bike and if it was a photoshop it was nicely done. Heck if the new VFR looked like that I'd buy it.

Edited to add: the site in question appears to be putting forth their own model of what the VFR should be, a throw back to the RC 30 and RC45. Used altavista to get the translation so it is a little rough.
