I've built some brackets that bolt onto the side of '02 VFR in place of the passenger pegs. I constructed these brackets out of 3/16" x 2" flat metal plate and then MIG welded Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck "D" rings to them. This is so I can trailer the bike with my Duke II on vacations and also so I can tie it down for dyno runs. The left one also acts as a reservoir mount for my Penske shock.
I called a place in California called Andrews Powdercoating and they want $125 minimum setup charge to do these two brackets in gloss black.
Anyone know a place that does powdercoating at a more reasonable price? I've only got maybe $40 invested in the brackets including the "D" rings I ordered from Toyota and an afternoon of drilling, cutting, and welding. It seems a shame to have to pay $125 just to have them poweder coated.
I'm in the metro Atlanta area.
