Hi everyone,
I am sort of desperate because I went to two Honda dealerships and they are looking at me like I am crazy. I was wondering if there was an internet site where the double flnaged well-nuts can be bought. The only ones the dealer had was the long barrel type with the single flange. If anyone had any ones for sale or knows where I can get my hands on some then please email me at dinot71@yahoo.com. Thanks

I bought 20 of these when i broke one...PM me if you need some.
They are however single flanged...but when you compress them they get that extra flange....at least I assume they do as I can't see it. The worked well tho.
The Dealers might not stock the Honda well nuts, but almost all m/c shops carry aftermarket windshield mount kits that consist of 6,8 or 10 well nuts & screws that are basically the same size as Honda's for around $12 a kit. fing02.gif

You are looking for the "single-barrel" top hat looking ones. The brass insert squeezes the rubber and makes it stay that way after a while. They tried to sell you the right part. fing02.gif

Hi Seb,
Arent the well-nuts that go along the fairing and the interior of the fairing where the back middle plastic part joins the the two lower fairings together. Do you know if I can pre-compresse them? I already have the single flanged ones and I thought I just got the wrong ones. If I am mistaken then please let me know. I thought they got placed in the lower fairing holes first....then it just slid under the upper cowl and then you insert the bolt. Man I am never going to have another motorcycle accident again sad.gif

I already have the single flanged ones and I thought I just got the wrong ones. If I am mistaken then please let me know. Dino, yes you got the right ones. There all single flange and don't need to be "pre-compressed" just sit them in the hole, install both body panels and tighten the bolts/screws. It's the tightening of the bolt that compresses the rubber to grip the panel and flair the back side of the well nut. Some people glue them in place so they don't spin. fing02.gif

McMaster for "Well Nuts". If the threads are 6-32, they have two different lengths, pack of 25 for about $13. Keep a few spares, share them with your friends. Good source for stainless metric fasteners, hose and clamps, aluminum stock, etc.

A tip for you, Dino, take your 'double-flanged' nuts and thread the screw in just a couple threads. Then you can push on the bolt to pop the nut into place, instead of trying to twist it in from the underside. fing02.gif
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once you install the well nuts, do not under any circumstance decide to use any type of thread lock (any color of Loctite) on the fairing bolts. Search the posts above this titled "Expensive Lesson Learned Tonight" to find out why.
