Shock Removal

Since I had the shock off of my 6th gen VFR. How do I get to the top bolt on the shock? Is is necessary to remove the tank or does the tank just pivot up on the hinge bolt like some other Hondas and the SV650 Suzuki?

It's been so long since I installed the Penske I can't remember.

The tank pivots up - just loosen the front bolts, then undo the rear ones. You'll probably need to take the rear tank bracket off too.
