Hey guys. After selling my first '99VFR this spring, i found a deal on another '99 that i just could not pass up! Clean title, 20k miles for $2,800 bucks!!!! Needs nothing except 10 hrs of cleaning. Damn my hands are sore. It really looks awesome, except for some scuffing on the right side lower fairing. The tail also has a scuff and crack, where the lower bolt is. (see pic)

I want to fix it up this winter. I'm not opposed to wet sanding and putting down some primer, then clearcoating. If someone could give me a few pointers, that would be great too. smile.gif

Where do i find matching paint? I need rattle can, since i don't have access to spray guns.

Thanks guys.
Dave

Try Color Rite. They're on the 'net.

Nice bike. Get ALL the fluids changed, check suspension (a certain Mod here can help ya laugh.gif ) then HIT IT! fing02.gif

Call the cops, Tuffguy stole a VFR from somebody.

Nice looking bike. Like Bent said change the fluids and ride like you stole it, cause you did.

Thats great.. thanks guys. It looks like color rite has it.

I'll do a full flush. Brakes, clutch, already did oil, and coolant. Getting used bikes into tip top shape is something i'm pretty good at. It also came with brand new DID chain and sprockets. The Two Brothers exhaust actually sounds better then the Micron on my last VFR. Very nice.

I see in that write up you use clear from a pint and apply with a brush. Should i do the same with the paint? Or should i rattle can?
#7
Yup. Brush. Honestly, that's up to you. If the scratches are minor, I'd do a brush. If you have long, large rashing, I'd do rattle. Got pics?

Here is the side damage. About 10 or so scuff marks. No long deep scratches.
