Well, been think'n of this mod for a long time. Since I was spraying R157, for a hugger, anyway,....I do-ded it.

Ought to be pert-slick, with the hugger on. (And a wheel). LOL. Looked nice in photoshop.

I was lookin at doin the same thing for a while now, actually was gonna when I painted the Hugger, but when it arrived there was no need to paint it wink.gif thanx

The bike,,,or just that piece???

Will the paint stay stuck? Or will it peel easily? A photo taken from a little further away to get the overall picture would make it easier to judge the effect. Still, no doubt about it, here's another one goooooone to the dogs, tune in next week when you'll hear Miss Piggy say...!!!!

Silly question..... ohmy.gif If it's that close to the chain, you can guarantee that it will get really black.

Paint should stick. Sanded, primed, painted, cleared. I am concerned a tad, worse comes to worse, I'll strip it back down. I didn't add any flexing agent, but I figured, I wouldn't have to, as the part has less flexing than the body, prep was proper, and PPG paints really are top notch. (I should be charging more, for the stuff I sell. J/K). LOL.

It'll get dirty on the inside, but, as last year's T-Mac attendees, will testify,...You can pretty much eat off of any part, of my bike.

Does anyone know if this piece (the "air guide") actually performs any useful function, or is it just another bit of OTT SafetyNazism?
I took mine off - looks much better, and makes cleaning/lubing the chain MUCH easier.

**shrugs shoulders** Figure it's just safty. In my case, a bit more color uniformity.

I took mine off - looks much better, and makes cleaning/lubing the chain MUCH easier.

Could keep the chain/sprocket from taking your fingers or toes off, in the event that they ended up down there in a crash. I've ended up with my feet in some odd locations in dirt-bike crashes, not so much on the street.

I have taken it off on some bikes, left it on others. The last thing I would do is paint it or the chain guard a bright color, but that's just me. The brushed aluminum ones don't look so bad, but are probably not any more functional.

LOL. Actually, I had replaced the top of the airbox, with a grate, for grilling on, but I kept getting chunks of meat and grease, in the throttle bodies. ohmy.gif
