Not to draw any attention away from the Nelson BC meet but some of us just plain can not go. If there is interest I would be glad to try and put something together. Last week of July maybe. Post some input and we can go from there. George (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fing02.gif)
Silver#788, Mar 25 2008, 11:33 AMNo replys so I am guessing this is out. Too bad
I should be around that weekend, or any other weekend in August. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fing02.gif)
I'm still on the fence about going to the BC meet. I've already got plans to head down to Reno in May/June and then Laguna Seca in July. Plus, I've got a wedding in California that I need to drive down in July and that's going to be expensive. And, since I just bought the CBR, I'm probably going to be doing more track days this year too. So I really don't have the funds for another big trip in August. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I am in the same boat. duel sport 3 day trip in may, Reno end of may first of june. Wedding in Half moon bay cali june 14th then headed straight to moab for 4 days of duel sporting. I would love to go to BC but I just cant fit it into my budget.
I agree that it would be nice to have a local PNW weekend meet with people where we get together for fun on the cheap.
It sounds like you are intending it to be out of your area. If you're looking for alternatives, I loved having you guys all out here in Newport for PNW II two years ago.
The latter half of July would be fine for me, I have no at-sea time in July scheduled (so far), and don't foresee any major cruises coming.
I could be in for this if the bike is back together by then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . I've been on a mountain tear ever since the first of the year but need to get back to my senses before the good weather hits.

I would absolutely love a coast gathering. I will buy steaks for everyone that wants to attend A few cases of beer for the campers. Speak up anyone that wants steaks so I get enough. I of course will bring extras but a head count is best. I will even bring my laptop, LCD projector, and a big sheet so we can do outdoor movies. OOOHHHH we can watch from dust to glory and other good mc movies.

Let me know how this shakes out.
Later, -T
I can tell by your lack of knowledge for the location of your cell phone. Anytime you want to ride a real mountain resort let em know I am at Meadows every other day. Just kidding brother. But do call me later. Geo

I haven't responded since I've been trying to figure out my schedule for this summer. About the only thing I know for certain is I won't have any time off in August, as the Project From Hades is due to be moved to production mid-month. I'll be in Coos Bay 7/17 thru 7/20, but on the cruiser. I was going to post something later about that, warning the good folks of Coos Bay and Charleston that they're going to be invaded that weekend by 200+ cruiser riders. Plan your weekend rides elsewhere that weekend, Two-Wheeled Tourists will abound! The last weekend in July in Newport (or anywhere in WA/OR) sounds good to me. Don't need a steak for me, I don't eat red meat anymore. I'll stand around on the corners and take pictures as you ride by!

GypsyCat
A Veggie Option will be available. BBQed Beats, and summer squash maybe
I be up for a oregon run towards the end of July. I'd even be willing to host out of Lebanon if the coast doesn't work out. We have lots of camp areas and plenty of floor space. Joel
We are watching this thread & also would like to be able to meet up again pre BC. George's offer makes this especially tempting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fing02.gif)

OK. I'll have the ribeye, please, medium-rare, with a Guinness. I'm looking forward to seeing how all this packs on a VFR.

magellan, Apr 20 2008, 09:31 PMSo if I read this right Diana would prefer the 26-27. Either weekend works for us. Are you committing to the 19-20 though, or can we try to accommodate Diana and do the 26-27?
I totally goofed on the dates in that last post - I've edited it to read as I first intended. Let's make it the 25th through 27th.
Cool. 25th-27th it is! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fing02.gif)
Man this sounds fun... But I'm off to Laguna fopr MotoGP, then to Utah for a Bicycle Race. Early JUly, its down to Taho for 4th of July with my Siblings. I should go work on at least one of the weeks of summer.
viffer05, Apr 9 2008, 08:02 PMDid anybody else notice? On the main page it shows today would have been Rich's 56th birthday. Happy Birthday buddy! RIP
Right on - I sure miss that guy.
This email came to me from Judi a couple of days ago - I forwarded it to some that I had an address for, but I thought you'd all enjoy seeing this I've told others that they can send any contributions in through me. PM me for info.

Hello All,
As most of you know, Richs uncle Jed contacted me last winter to inquire about the possibility of putting a nice marker up on Marys peak for Rich. After talking it over with Jed, Keith and Richs cousin Rick, we have decided it is most appropriate to place a nice natural stone of some kind up there. Rich was a long time mason and had an eye for a beautiful rock J. The plan is to replace the funky marker I made in the weeks after his death with something more fitting and permanent that we can easily slip into a park setting without bringing it to the attention of those that manage the property J nuf said.
Rick has great connections with some fabulous masons here in Portland and they have volunteered to carve the stone with Richs name, dates, etc. at no charge. Rick and I plan to go pick out a stone this weekend. I do not yet know how much the stone will cost, but Jed, Rick and I are certainly wanting to contribute. If anyone else can do so, please let me know and I will keep you informed.
I would expect it to take a month or so to get the carving done, but there really is no hurry on placing it. It would be nice to take it up to the peak on the 2nd anniversary of his death (Sunday or Monday of Labor day weekend), but I also realize thats a holiday and many of you may have other plans. If so, please feel free to suggest alternative dates and I will do my best to find something that works for the majority of us and keep all of you informed as to the date and time. Its not so important to me when it is placed but that can all gather and do it together.
I thought I would give you all a heads up on the progress so that we can begin to finalize dates and communicate the plan to others who might want to be present. Also, as you might know, today would have been Richs 56th birthday. Please add his life and his light into your thoughts tonight.
With Much Love,
Judi
