Well guys I am the bearer of sad news. The fastest color VFR (silver) left my garage for good today.
I sold her to make room for a larger steed so that I can ride longer trips and with someone on the back,
The front runner for replacement is the Concours14. I will be looking at the ST & FJR too, but from what I have seen, read, & heard, the Connie is the one.
Lower your flags to half mast and lets have a moment of silence.
Slammer, I know your feelings on this, but I just had to do it.
I'll keep my eyes on the forum for rides and such. but know the bike took a piece of my heart with it.
Turncoat............. :biggrin: No really I can understand the lure of a concours 14...I expect a full report on each bike you check out, like dislike, all minor and large..and enjoy!!!!!! It would be hard to trade off the VFR so I can feel your pain....but atleast your riding and you'll be riding one of three very sweet STs!!!!!!!
+1 on the reviews. I too am interested in the concourse 14 but it will be an addition to the first gen. The ST a friend had and was not happy as he said it was poorly balanced causing the back-end to be loose often.
Sorry to hear you sold your VFR, but there are obviously tons of great bikes out there, including some that will meet your needs better than this one. Even tho of course the VFR is the best bike on the planet, and you just made the biggest mistake of your life. :laugh:
Just kidding! Enjoy the new bike hunt and give us a report once you've put a few miles on the new one. :)
I know there will be a day when I sell or trade in my VFR, and that will be a sad day, but thankfully I think that day is a long, long way off.

That must be contageous. A good friend of mine did the same thing a few months back. He sold his 04 asphalt VFR and went out and bought a Concourse. But I guess he figuered he was getting up there in age and wanted something between the VFR and a Gold Wing. The Concourse fell in the middle from the looks of things. Enjoy your bike.
I'll be interested in your review of the Connie. In the next 6 mos. I plan on adding a 2nd bike (can't let my trusted VFR go). It looks like it's between the ST1300 and the Concours 14. I have not ridden either. It appears there are + / - about both bikes, but thats always the case.
