Just to pass along my experience.
2 months ago I ordered up a set of Leo Vince EvoII Oval Carbon Cans for my 2007 RWB.
I'd post pictures, but there's a few good sites out there that will take you through the steps.
ANYHOW.
What a freeking difference. I mean, Now the front end keeps wanting to pop up, the difference in power is very noticeable.
I highly recommend people go with aftermarkets.
One of the big reasons is the stock cans you have on there WEIGH A FREEKIN TON, as compared to aftermarket like the Leo Vince.
Another is Aftermarkets usualy allow some sort of easy pull out and put in of baffles (to your liking).
Installation is not very difficult and only takes a few hours.
That, and they just look awesome too. They SOUND freeking awesome.
I also managed to get the Competition Workes Fenderless on there. Even if you have a bigger than averation license plate, the Aftermarket cans typically don't go as low as stock, and you have more room to play with. If things get outta hand, just go down about an inch on the fenderless and drill 2 new holes for your plate, and you're set.
The only thing about the fenderless is you really gotta be careful putting the number plate lamp on it. I torqued out the screws too much and cracked them both.... Had to order a new rear lamp set.

i think your feeling more of a placebo affect about the power increaes's,im sure there is a bit more power but the sound makes it feel like alot more.
with stock ecu,headers and cats just replacing the cans will not do too much for power.
BUT the sound is sooooo much better imo when aftermarket pipes are added.
i went gutted and modded my stock cans and the sound is better than anything ive heard on a vfr 6th gen,but thats my opinion.
it really does make the engine sound like a beast instead of a sewing machine on crack.
usually a 1hp different at best but that sound.... I have to agree is fantastic, but then we are talking V4 here :biggrin:
The sound makes it seem much faster. Seat of the pants there really is no diffirence.

I've grown accustom to stock quiter pipes , their ability to hammer without waking the dead , I see as a benefit

It should actually be harder to wheelie with less weight out back.
Nice choice in pipes! Those look/sound good on the VFR.
The sound is the biggest benefit of slip-ons. The reduced weight helps, but matters less on a bike that's this heavy to begin with. The look only matters when you're not riding the bike. :warranty:
Yeah, I know what I'm saying is kinda weird. I also think so too.
There <IS> however a very noticeable difference between the weight of of the stock vs. the LV Pipes.
Put it this way. I was riding a full spec(full power) modded version of the bike, with Japan Stock Pipes on(pipes made just for the lower power version of the bike in Japan).
I bought the bike used, and didn't know it was made full power. When the dealership sold it to me, I guess they put back on the regular Japan stock pipes.
So anyways, these LeoVince pipes are perfect now for my bike, and I really do/did notice some improvement. Weight loss plus a little more pep. Made enought difference for me to get excited about it hehe.
I had a Two Brothers pipe on my 5th gen for years. Loved the sound, the looks, and the power (also had the K&N plus Power Commander). That pipe was loud but far from obnoxious, or blatty. It had a bass-rich sound to it that gave the bike a NASCAR v8 soundtrack. It was just beautiful to listen to. Unfortunately, cops all over could hear me coming a mile away. A couple of times I came around a corner and they already had their laser guns pointed in my direction. Damn bastards! LOL! As much as the idea of opening up my stock exhaust on my 07 VFR is very appealing, I think I will stick with stealth running. That along with a black jacket and helmet has kept me from attracting the wrong attention so far. My previous VFR was red and I had a red jacket and helmet. A friend once showed me a video during a group ride and I was way up front with a group of other riders and I stuck out like a sore thumb! I swore you could spot me 1/4 mile away!

If you haven't, check out a 6gen with the LV setup WITH their spuds in place. You might like what you hear. I, like you, don't care for even the "normal" dB level of most aftermarket cans nor like to advertise my impending arrival to LEO's. I live in area with little crime and a very bored police force.

I fitted the same ones on my '06 last weekend, and damn!
I haven't really had the time with them yet to notice any increase in power, but the sound is just awesome!

I can vote to that.
I haven't taken the spuds out yet because I think they sound great even with spuds. Imo the difference in sound is big compared to stock mufflers, but still not obnoxiously loud.
I've also heard that the Leo's get even better with age!
Anyhow, a great improvement to the feel of the bike!
So I just bolted up my LV aluminum cans on Sunday night. Piece of cake and they look great, and probably shaved a few pounds off the bike losing the factory setup.
Last night I installed the PC3 and pulled the LV map off their website. I also removed the LV baffles. I removed the left fairing and embarked on the O2 sensor override mod, and found that the previous owner had already put the resistors in, yet was running stock (no exhaust or PC3), so I wonder if that's why the bike didn't 'feel' quite right (?)
Anyhow, on the ride in to work today, I was very happy with the deep, throaty sound of the LVs with the baffles removed...awesome! Just need to be gentle on the throttle when rolling out of the 'hood at 6am :unsure:
As for performance....well, not much improvement there but granted it was only an 8-mile scramble to the office so far. I think I'll be able to form more of an opinion after a few good rides.
My expectations are sorta warped since I'm coming from an '01 GSX-R1000, so the VFR is tame by comparison. The VTEC motor just isn't that exciting to me, but that's not to say it isn't good. I'm much happier on the VFR with more relaxed ergos and a better setup for touring and commuting.
Next up: luggage, throttle lock, heated grips, Powerlet socket
must add my story too i mounted a pair of devil carbon on my 2006, with the powercommander and O2 sensors and kn filter mounted i did a dyno run on the bike i had gained 8 HP from 95 (on the wheel) to 103 and a noticable increase in power from 3000 rpm and all above :) the sound is really sweet too i might add :cool:
I installed my Leo carbons about a month ago. I didn't notice any difference in power but I did notice a big difference in the rear shock set up due to the loss of weight. I needed to do a few adjustments to get it back to where I like it. I can't emphasize how much improved the look and sound is with these pipes. The quality is fantastic. They pay attention to every detail, even in packaging everything is wrapped and padded with bubble wrap and those "air balloon" thingys. Every part is in it's own bag with a picture and part number, and the fasteners for that part are in a bag within the bag. The proprotions of the pipes are perfect for the bike. Italian style and craftsmanship is clearly evident. I love the look of the two big exhaust outlets point out back. Sound in awesome, I especially like the midrange 4500 to 6000 sound as well as deceleration. I get a big grin every time I ride it now.
