Red Bull Moto Gp - 2008 Laguna Seca

I'm not having any luck finding out if the Moto Gp will be broadcast by network TV on Sunday July 20.

Does anyone know which channel is going to cover the race?

I think that's right.... 5:00 eastern standard time, looks like it'll be LIVE.

CBS might also have another race next month.... delayed from Europe.

Motorcycle racing must be coming up in the world for Network TV to carry it . And it doesn't hurt that the Brittish Open will be long over before the race starts.

Three races this year, all on CBS, is a solid step. Now all we need are a couple solid commentators. I enjoy Eurosport's Julian Ryder and Toby Moody a ton. I also like when Neil Spalding is in the booth, piping in with his technical knowledge. I think they express their excitement much more eloquently (not to mention they can pronounce all of the riders names, just not Ducati biggrin.gif ). Maybe they are genuinely enjoying the races, while Greg White is just in it for the paycheck. I know Schwantz enjoys the racing, but he would be better positioned as a resource for first hand knowledge, rather than a main commentator (ala Randy Mamola).

Where do you get this? Greg is a major proponent of motorcycles and motorcycle racing and has always 'stepped up to the plate' as far as advancing the sport. You may argue about his abilities as a commentator but I'd never question his motives.

Yep, the Euro commentators are much better than Greg (scooters across America) White and Kevin (reeeeallllly) Schwantz. I regularly watch MotoGP via free internet feed and have grown to like the Euro guys. Greg White does love bikes but is not a TV personality. His lack of polish and charisma doomed the "Greg's Garage" TWT show a couple years ago. His delivery has not improved with time. He needs to be sacked as the Brits say.

I searched cbs.com for Laguna Seca and then for MotoGP. Neither yielded any results.

I am really happy that I bought a subscription to motogp.com instead of the Direct TV package that includes speed.

Nick Harris and his fellow commentators at MotoGP.com have great commentary. The stream starts 15 min before the races and there is no advertisement. No interuptions and you can watch the race again from the archives. All the races are streamed live when they happen.

It is not TV quality but overall streaming is quite satisfying.

Oh, and they will stream the 25min warmup this AM.

Seriously Greg, just because Red Bull is sponsoring the race doesn't mean you have to live off the stuff for 3 days straight, take a valium for pete's sake!

I actually enjoyed the CBS commenting on the Laguna Race! GASP! It may not of been the cream of the crop, but it was miles above any previous broadcast they have done.
