Hi all. I've been working feverishly on cassandtim's bike to get it ready to go to Canada for the Kootenay Hootenanny Wednesday morning, but we've run into a snag. We had to repair several broken wires at the black 26-pin ECM connector, caused by his accident last year. We had to remove several wires from the connector itself and solder in good ones from another harness. Unfortunately, I may have mistakenly located one of the wires one pin left or right of its proper location.

If anyone out there can post a decent-resolution photo of the wires entering the back of the black ecm connector from the harness on an '02-'05 6th gen, it would be appreciated more than you know. The side we wonder about is the one opposite the clip that locks the connector in the ecm.

THANKS!!!!

If you have to remove plastic to get to the connector and shoot a photo, let me know. I'll find a way to make it worth your while. ;)

I'll email polarbear to send you a picture as well. He has been doing something similar this weekend. I'll check the manual and try to figure out to which colour each wire connects to.

I hope this picture can help. Can you tell us more about the problem you're having, like what isn't working. We can then help you through the wiring diagram.

He called and we got the issue fixed. He had the brown wire in the empty slot directly on the other side of the plug. Things are fixed.

I collapsed and went to bed after talking to Jason, but have I mentioned how much I love VFRD lately? You guys rock!

I'm donating $ to VFRD today to thank all of you.

I swear I looked away from the connector for two seconds to say something to Tim, looked back and thought, "Hmm, this goes here...right? Oh, crap I think this goes here..." I was 95% sure, and the 5% got me!

My face is as red as wire #16, gray connector. Or is it wire #15?

Do you think practicing and mastering the "counter rotating" finger exercise would have prevented this unfortunate incident? :)

Glad things worked out!
