What Size Socket For Rear Wheel Nut?

Should I buy a torque wrench for putting my rear wheel back on and if so what size socket does it take? I have a 6th gen.

19mm from memory.

You don't need a torque wrench if you're comfortable with tightening fasteners by feel (it's not much different to a car).

19mm, a deep socket will be easier, and yes, a torque wrench is a definite IMHO. 80 ft/lbs of torque.

I use a torque wrench. On my truck I know I'm close when I move the truck while thghting the lug nut. On the bike its just easier to listen/feel the click on the torque wrench.

Yes 19mm.. Your going to need a deepwell to get a full bit on the lug nut...

Sparkplug socket will work well for this, IIRC it's 3/4".

I'm a bad boy...I don't use a torque wrench on mine. I have a good torque wrench but it only goes up to 75 ft #s, so I just go by feel on the rear wheel lugnuts.

REALLY ITS BEST TO USE METRIC SOCKETS.. (sorry not yelling)

If you have to use a Standard size on a metric nut/bolt be sure it is a close fit and no air tools.. Sometimes it takes a hammer to remove the socket also...

Tighten it once with setting at 75. Then reset it to 5 and tighten again, for a total of 80. :-)

Not in this case. 3/4" is so close to 19mm so there is no practical difference (25.4*0.75=19.05mm).
