My Viffer Lives Outside, Any Suggestions On A Good Waterproof Cover?

I want a good cover to keep my bike as protected as it can get. Any good suggestions?

If possible, you should get it out of the weather. You might consider buying one of those cheap sheds sold at home improvement stores if it's feasible. Or maybe you can build a plywood box to go over it. Sort of like a dog house for your bike. I recall seeing motorcycle shelters that looked like tents a few years ago, but haven't seen them advertised lately.

Leaving a bike outside is never a good thing. It will kill it faster than anything else. All the bits that can rust and corrode will. You will also become intimately familiar with all sorts of mysterious electrical gremlins as time passes. UV rays will break down the plastic and rubber. Leaving the bike under a waterproof cover or tarp for an extended length of thing will trap moisture under the cover defeating the purpose of having it on. Wind will also cause a cover to abrade the paint where it rubs on the bike.

I wish I have that option but I live in an apartment complex. I dont let it sit very often but I need something to keep it as protected as possible when parked.

If it's not your primary vehicle, maybe consider renting a storage space. I've done it myself, in the past.

As has been said already, better inside than out. Better covered than not.

My current bike cover is about ten years old, heavy duty canvas type material called Bagman Ultra II, I think. Has a lower portion which is coated with maybe pvc or nylon, not sure. Bike is in carport, covered.

When I lived in Tampa I was in the same position as you are. I used to go out once in a while just to watch my car rust.

I got a couple car covers here which are holding up to the sun and tree and bird droppings well so far.
Haven't used the bike cover much since I have a garage.

When I had to keep my bikes outside I used DOWCO covers and they laste a good while plus did not trap moisture here in the northeast USA. At the time I lived in the Hudson River valley so dampness/humidity was always present and I never got any rust/oxidation on the outside bikes. They ran me about 75 - 80 for the good one - heavier and vented. Good luck.
