Honda Saddlebag Attachment — Sixth Generation VFR

I'm negotiating the purchase of a 2002 VFR (non-ABS)from a private party. The bike does not have saddlebags. Neither the owner nor any of my VFR friends know if the 2002 has the same mounting system as the 2003 - 2008s.

Has the attachment system (brackets, footpeg brackets, etc.) changed from 2002 to 2008?

Thanks for any info you can share.

:offtopic: Some unsolicited advice for when you install them... Don't tighten down ANY bolts until everything is attached. Leave ALL bolts just bearly threaded. I figured that it would be bolt and go when I did it :pissed: , but you need as much play as possible to fit everything together!!!

That is definitely good advice. Even with leaving as much slack as possible, I still struggle to get everything to line up properly to get the last couple of bolts in. :mad:
