Congrats... I have and Black 06' also. I would recommend a "Guardian" all weather bike cover. I used one during the winter months in the northwest enviroment and it worked great. I would also recommend a pcIII to help with the v-tec engagement if you don't already have one.

OK. I know the guy never did an oil change in his 966 miles and over a year and a half, so what oil and stock filter and how often to change oil? Even though I already have a spare rear tire in the shed, what touring tires are best? I don't putt around, but I don't think my riding requires a sticky tire. Chain/sprocket/tires/valve adjustment/Coolant flush at 16K miles? On my '96 CBR90RR I had to tighten the chain each time I cleaned and lubed it. Do I have to tighten the chain on this bike, or does it have a spring tensioner?

Todd was joking here, hence the emoticons after his statement. The search function on the top tool bar will be your friend for all of those questions as they all have been beaten to death. And as for the drive chain tension, you have to adjust it as needed. I've never seen a tensioner on a drive chain. Enjoy the bike, it doesn't seem like the previous owner did much enjoying of the VFR!

I tried to upload a photo, but it said it was too big probably because it was teken at 10 megapixels. I'll take some low rez pics in the next couple of days.
All joking aside on the oil issue, if it's never been changed since the bike was new it needs to be done ASAP. It's supposed to be done after the first few or several hundred miles.
Frame sliders - contact VFRD member Radar to see if/when he's making more 6th gen. VFR sliders. Or Google R&G sliders and order a set. Radar's are cheaper and very well made but you'll have to modify your coolant bottle for the install.
Tie-down or cargo net - my 6-hook cargo net doesn't work well with my VFR, so I use bungees - usually the flat strap kind I've bought at Wal-Mart in the automotive section.
Locks - I use a disc lock with orange reminder cable. Minimal protection, but if you can at least dissuade amateur crooks you've done a lot.
Not sure about the Corbin, but the rear seat cowl does not work well with the Sargent. I've never put mine back on after swapping out saddles a couple years ago.

I found a round magnet that fits over the key slot in the ignition. I place the magnet there every time I remove the key as a reminder to remove the disc lock. I have never forgotten to remove the disc lock. :biggrin:

Didn't you get the memo from Billy Mays? There's a UV repellent wax out that's good for 15hp. I used it and could hardly keep the front end of my bass boat black 06 on the ground! The guys on the red ones were astounded when I passed them. It gives almost as much of a performance boost as running a mix of 10-40W and 20-50W valvoline car oil. Look for it on TV after 2:00AM. I just leave the TV on while I sleep and Billy wakes me up with his screaming sales pitch. If you order in the next 15 minutes they'll throw in a free set of steak knives. :laugh:

Actually Asphalt absorbs the most sunlight. I use this effect to enhance my travels through the time/space continuum...... I must be off!!
^ this is why black is the fastest, it absorbs all light around it, this creates a black hole for traveling at or faster than the speed of light, covering vast universes in mere seconds which even the red ones cant do. :blink: :biggrin:
