How wide is it from outside to outside at the pivot points?

I don't know, but if you're going where I think you're going with this, you might want to try the 3rd or 4th gen. forum.

A lot of people have put VFR SSSA's on other bikes. I've seen one on an FZ1, for example. If you want to do this, that's fine. However, the SSSA would have to come off (I think) a 3rd or 4th gen. VFR. The reason being is on 5th and 6th gen. VFR's, the SSSA is mounted on the engine whereas on the 3rd and 4th gen. VFR's the SSSA was mounted to the frame.

There are a lot of people on this forum that know infinitely more about this stuff than I do. If you give us more details about your intent, I'm sure one of them would be glad to steer you in the right direction.

Meant to check this for you, I'll measure mine this afternoon if you don't already have the info. But Keystone is right, the 3rd-4th are about an inch or two narrower than the 5th-6th gens.
