Recent Stop Of The Rolling Moto Show-calif.

So Yeah, the Intl Moto show was in San Mateo Ca. this past weekend.

Don't get me wrong, I love my dark knight 04 VFR (I've lusted after one for more than 15 years) and will prolly keep her another 5yrs. min.
But man, some of the cruisers were looking Good! Does it come with Age? dunno.
I don't mean Harley's, never had much use for their price for value gap. But the other wanna be and deserved so Stars, VTXs, even dare I say Suzuki's?

Had my 13y.o. son in tow and he was seeking Motard's, Very Cool. Took in the Stunters outdoors hosted by Jason Brittan from Speeds "Superbike" show.

All the exotics (to me anyway) were present as well, Aprillia, Guzzi, MV, Duc's, Lots of sweet offerings. This show has gone big time from what I recall the 80's versions being like.

Among all of it in the Honda dislay was the lowly single (overcast) Gray VFR. Just a few middle aged sitters of both genders the few times I swung by.

Here's to hoping that Big Red can blow some life back into our Majestic Rides. Must hang on!

It IS great having all the models under one roof.

I went to the San Mateo show Saturday and I could almost hear crickets chirping in the Honda display. I've never seen Honda have so little to offer in so many years of attending the show. They only have the CBRs as new bikes which everyone has already gone over in dealerships. The single grey VFR on the floor was almost totally ignored by everyone. I even saw people go towards it, look at it and sigh, then walk away looking mostly dissapointed that it 's the same old bike that they saw last year and the few years before (Hello ole Concours syndrome??). People were almost reluctant to even get on the DN-01. I only got on it because there was nothing else new to mount! I really think Honda's innovative soul died with Soichiro's passing a few years ago. The DN-01 is a joke if anyone would even consider it as an exciting new product from "Big (now wimpy?) Red". I predict the DN-01 to be an evolutionary dead end for Honda. A total waste of everyone's time. It was almost embarrasing to even put my feet on those forward sited foot...uhhh.. pads. My feet and legs actually tried to find phantom pegs where we usually expect them to be, when I first got on the thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
I had more fun in the Kwak display (The Versys, which is new to CA, looks to be a fun bike to own!) with it's wider range offerings. Love the Ducs and KTM too....but Honda....Ho Hummm......Snore.....
How are we ever going to expect an exciting 7th gen if this situation does not change

I felt the same way after I went and it was the first year I'd been. Honda's display wasn't hardly worth the 10 minutes I spent there. Nothing I couldn't see on the display floor @ the local stealership. You'd think they'd at least have had the Raven VFR, or maybe the black and white scheme from the great white north, but no, they had the pencil lead graphite one there. Seemed like everyone else had an AMA, WSBK, or MotoGP bike @ the Long Beach show, but not Honda. What's up with that? If you guys had Aprilia and MV you had more than Long Beach, or maybe they were in a spot I didn't get to?
