Hi to all
Is there someone who can tell me his opinion about DNA and K&N air filter for a 1998 5th gen?
Thanks to all
Luigi.
Never heard of DNA filters, but I do have a K&N for my 99.
I really didn't notice any performance gains by adding the filter. The bike does seem to warm up faster with the K&N filter though.
The main reason I bought the filter is because its reusable, instead of always having to buy paper filters, the k&N can be washed.
Likewise, I don't know DNA, but I use K&N in all my vehicles. I can't quantify any difference for my 1994 VFR750 as when I fitted the K&N I also had the bike tuned/jetted, it already had a Staintune exhaust. It went like a rocket after that though - however, the mechanic who did it was ex Australian HRC team (Troy Corser's 1993 RC30 mechanic) so it's hard to say how much was down to the parts and how much came from the fettling.
But I do like being able to just clean, oil and refit the filter.
Hi
Thank you for the answers
I made the question 'cause i've bought from an UK site a Power Commander PC3 USB + K&N air filter for my 5th gen.
When the envelope arrived i found the DNA instead of K&N.
Seller told me that the K&N was out of stock and he send the DNA that, his words, are a better brand and more expensive.
I never heard DNA brand too, so i've asked information.
P.S. DNA is washable and reusable too, like the K&N.
Thank you, Luigi.
