Has anyone purchased these instead of the 1000 oem hard bags for an option? If so what are the pros an cons of them? Looking at the picture I cant tell if you can only have the side bags mounted without that top box. Any fimilar with these? I decided to look for vfr withOUT the oem bags. Huge price jump. What other options are out there?
My local dealer sold me the 06 bags with moutning hardware for 760 plus tax (805). The bags with hardware from your source are 719 (would you have to pay shipping?). As mentioned, since you are not shopping color specific, I've seen people mention they got the OEM bags and hardware from davidsilversspares for less than 600 shipped here to the U.S. You could also try this guy, dave@mositesmotorsports.com he is mentioned on here several times as a good place to do business with.
Be patient and you can find them from a prior owner at a very good savings. Just be sure you get ALL the mounting hardware as Honda will not sell the harware seperately! You should expect to pay somewhere around 5-600 shipped. I have dealt with David Silver Spares and they are excellent when it comes to their sales personnel. Good luck.

They used to sell the sidebag mounting kit separately. They'd bend you over and take you dry for it (I think it was in the $300 - $400 neighborhood), but you could buy it.
what year VFR do you have. Would probably be better to go for OEM if you have a 6th gen. Haven't found any OEM for 5th gens. that's going to be a givi or pelican deal.
I have the V35's on my white '06. They look great and the quality is typical Givi. They do stick out a little more from the side of the bike than the OEM bags do, but they still look good. I like the fact that they have that removable panel that you can paint. I'll be painting my panels white to match the bike, and I think it'll give the bike a cool look being 2-toned like that. I'll try to post some pics today if I get around to it.
