I now have 800 miles on my "Precious" (The Hobbit).Took it in for my initial service(600).I ran-it-in,the 1st 300 miles (1st 100 used the smooth hi/low rpm,Re;Take it up slowly then bring it down slowly, only taking it up to 7 to 8k). At 200 I repeated, but now going up to 9 to 10k. So far at 800, I've only gone to 11 to 12k.

Doing all that revving,I was getting 34 to 37 mpg.Bringing it home from service I road some on the " I " slabs, but mostly on the back roads with normal rpm's variance.End result was 41 mpg.

I'm 235 lbs. I've gotten my set-up (suspension) feeling pretty good. I set my frt. rebound 3 turns (cc) from seat. My rear rebound 3rd notch from the soft end. My rear compression dampener 1 turn (cc) from seat (hard to soft). I loosened my chain as well,a little (way) to tight (while on the center stand).

At this point in time, having owned a 99' VFR in the past,I'm going to say I loved the 99' and I love the 08'. It's hard to see that much difference with the exception of the V-Tec motor, which by the way mine kicks in about 6700/800k (smoothly,I might add). I see no problem with it kicking in while leaning though the turns.

I ordered my Honda hard bags ($ 962.00 with hardware) from my dealer.Am waiting for del. (Thr),Silver to match,Precious.

So far the only mods I've done are putting some bubble mirrors in the area of the bike mirrors that nothing can be seen other than my arm. I set it up this way so as to be able to see what's behind me,and the bubbles are covering between what my bike mirrors see and what I can see peripherally (so I like my mirrors,& stock mounts). I put some "Puppy Grip" slide-on's,and like them so far. Also my Cortec Tank bag.I waiting for my Low-cut bra for my tank. Adjusted my brake pedal so my foot well rest normally on the peg but still have a few mm. gap over the pedal (had to re-adjust brake light sincere as well). I tried to adjust the hand levers so my wrest would be straight, and the thumb controls, but the levers are as low as they will move, because the thumb controls won't move at all (quessing there's a pin holding the thumb controls). Also installed my battery adaptor for charging, and heated vest.

+1. That grey looks very classy IMO. Already modding her to your liking, too! :fing02:

Great looking bike, I'm hoping my vtec issues will be sorted when she goes in for a long waited service.
