Finally I've got do one of my longest ambitions, to build a RC30 clone, so now have managed to get a '91 RC36 with RC45 body kit and widened NC30 fuel tank. Some info needed, does anyone have the diameter of RC45 headlights please? Oh so now it's going to be a RC45 clone.
We allow a few RC45 owners to hang on around here, they can help. But here's a tip - you need to look for a set of 1st Gen CBR900RR lights...
The widened tank is interesting. I've previously suggested it as a possible tank for RC builds, did not consider that it may need to be widened. Pics please
Stock RC45 head lights are 5 and 3/4 inch... but I'm switching over the smaller 4 and 1/2 inch head
lights off the NC35... along with a QB carbon fairing...

I'll post some pics on the weekend, bike is arriving Friday afternoon.
Welcome
I've started doing the same with my 4th gen, the headlight opening is about 5 7/8, but the CBR900 headlight is 5 1/2 so it will be a little smaller than stock. If you center it I'm hoping you won't be able to see the difference, at any auto parts store I checked as well the sizes are either 5 1/2 or 7.
Also, be careful and double check any parts off of fleabay, I bought 2 sets of headlights that were supposedly off the same year CBR900 but one is 5 1/4 and is obviously too small. Still don't know what year it's from.
One problem I've run into is that the radiator is a little too wide for the RC45 body, the two bottom corners hit the upper fairing so I've been trying to figure out what to do with it. If you have any inspirations let me know, I've been mainly thinking about alternate radiators to swap in for it.

The problem your stock rad is that it is flat... put a little bend in it and it should clear...
