White Color Scheme

Hi guys,
im new, and im buying an 09 vfr.

i have a question about a color scheme.

currently the 09 US models are black, which i like.


but i have found this picture

where/how do i get that color scheme.

is that a factory option? or is that custom?

any input would help a lot

The B&W is a factory colour in Europe and maybe some other parts of the world.

I believe Canada has that option as well.

humm, that could work, I am in New Hampshire, and Canada is only like 3-4 hours away.


i wonder how that works. if a dealer can order a Canadian version in the US, and then replace the cluster with a US spec cluster.

Nope, you'd have to buy in Canada and import it yourself. Or order a full plastic and tank kit from Canada $$$

Mind you, the black and silver is not painted, just transfers.

plus obama prob wants 15% of value to import it.

this is starting to look like a very expensive option.

If you have your heart set on the B&W color scheme you have a few options.

-Buy a stock US model and have it custom painted.
-Buy a stock US model and find a Canadian who bought the B&W model and wants to switch to the all-black scheme.
-Buy a stock US model and pay for all new plastics and fuel tank for the B&W scheme bike.

If you don't have to buy a brand new machine you could buy a used one and do the custom paint thing. You could even paint it yourself if you have a friend who owns or works in a paint shop, or who has a good paint shop set up at home. The '06 model came in white, so you'd just have to add black and that grey stripe between the colors on the side fairings.

You'd still need to have the wheels powder-coated white to match the wheels from the non-US model, but I would say it might look fine in the standard silver/grey, esp. with "matching" grey fairing stripes like I mentioned above.

Also, the forks and frame would still be silver, so there's a couple more wrinkles in attaining the B&W color scheme. :(

thats honestly what i am thinking now, i was reading on a BMW bike site that importing a bike into the US is a pain in the balls.

i could pick up a black 09.

have them paint the white and silver on it.

i can get wheels powder coated for free through a friend.


after looking around im thinking ~8500 for a new non abs is a good price. they were letting 07s go for 7500 this past winter new off the floor.


does any one know what the invoice price is on this bike?

or where i can get that info.

Excel Honda in Montreal has one in their showroom, it's absolutely stunning. Honda managed to refresh the looks with relatively simple changes, well done.

Sadly there's more to it than just painting the tank and plastics.. swingarm, frame, forks and a bunch of other smaller bits are all black. Taking a bike apart to have all these parts powder coated would be very expensive. For now, Honda dealers aren't giving discounts on these white VFRs, but they may do so come the end of summer.

the US spec 09 vfr is all black, fork, swing arm, so all the work is done, i think its just plastics and wheels

no idea what the 09s are going for... although the cheapest I have seen on sleezeBay is around $9k. The cheapest model you could buy brand new with a blacked out frame would be a left over 07 anniversary RWB non-ABS. A used RWB bike could come by even cheaper leaving more cash on hand to paint/buy plastics. You could probably also recoop some cost by selling the left over RWB bits.

Don't forget the exchange rate Can$ ---> US$.

$15K Canadian is roughly $12,100 US. So it's not THAT much more expensive than buying retail here. No idea on import fees tho.

look in the washington dc craigslist. you may find a 2006, white, $5800

there everywhere and the economy is bad. You will find one.

Make your life easy. Buy a silver 08 there should be plenty at the dealers still. Then paint the white and black onto the silver. Doing it that wqay should not be so expensive. After all if you buy an 08, you will probably get it for a little bit less than an 09. Good luck. :fing02:

You can get a new 07 RWB for $7500 from Charlotte Honda. I'm starting to sound like thier ad boy. I'm very happy with my new 06 white ABS for $7500.

i don't know what Honda was thinking with the '09. it's too black: black bodywork, black frame, black forks, black wheels, black swingarm, etc. too much of any one color, regardless of what it is, doesn't look good.

now if i could get a hold of some '09 black or '07 RWB bodywork, ......i'd be :biggrin:

So that's the '07 NON-ABS model or the '06 ABS model for $7500, correct?
