My good friend just bought me a set of galfer SS brake lines for the 04. He got them for less than $100 and they are brand new.

I have looked in several stores and only find the ABS kit. The kit I have is for ABS.

My bike DOES NOT have ABS. Will it work? Will I just have a few extra lines left over. There are several small ones labeled ABS.

Thanks for any help. I figured I would ask before starting such a big project. The box looks like silver spaghetti. 16 lines or something crazy.

I would offer to buy a non-ABS version and swap you but those batiges are not cheap! I want to have the friends you have!

(Seriously, off what truck did those lines fall?)

It's gonna be a mutha to bleed those. Yikes!

I'm gonna guess here and say that you can use them, not sure on the exact differences though.

Strangely, Galfer does not list a non-ABS kit on their website or in their catalog

Question would be if the lines from the master cyclinders to PCV pass through some sort of junction on the non-ABS (where the hard lines would cut in and out on an ABS model).

Might be worth a phone call directly to them: (800) 685-6633

Some dude bought them and then sold or totaled his bike. He had the lines new, in the box. :fing02:

There are like 16 lines IIRC.

So , any conclusion ?

What is the difference in terms of brakes lines between ABS and non-ABS version ?

What mods involves buying the Galfer kit FK003D425 (for the ABS version) in order to install on the non-ABS version?

I made a front kit for my '02 with the universal lines from many of the brake line suppliers. I could dig up the receipt if you really wanted the lengths I used. I really like it, made a nice difference

keep us posted on how the mod goes. After riding my 600rr w/ ss lines, my biggest complaint about the vfr is that the brakes feel like a sponge when I pull them in and there's no "feel" to them... :comp13:
